    • 90+3' FULL TIME. An own goal from Majstorovic gives England a 1-0 win over Sweden. It wasn't a great spectacle but England were the better side.
    • 90+2' England have been the better side - make no mistake about that - but this has been a pretty drab affair, especially in the second half. Chances few and far between.
    • 90' England have been the better side - make no mistake about that - but this has been a pretty drab affair, especially in the second half. Chances few and far between.
    • 88' Milner clears from a Sweden corner late on as England look to protect their clean sheet.
    • 87' Change for Sweden as Elm is replaced by Emir Bajrami.
    • 85' This match is petering out a bit now to be honest. It hasn't been a classic by any stretch of the imagination.
    • 83' Good work from Walker at right-back as he prevents Elmander from collecting the ball.
    • 82' Milner thumps in a cross from the right but Larsson just gets a head in as Bent is ready to convert at the far post. Sweden clear from the corner.
    • 80' Ireland have qualified for Euro 2012! They have beaten Estonia in their play-off. Latest scores and scorers.
    • 78' Carson is forced to take action when a swerving, dipping cross from Larsson almost dips under the bar. The keeper claws the ball away though.
    • 77' Just the five shots on target in 165 minutes of international football at Wembley so far this week.
    • 76' 75 minutes in and just one shot on target between the two sides. Now Downing is the latest to miss the target when firing one over the bar.
    • 75' This hasn't been a particularly thrilling encounter in all honesty. England have been decent enough, creating a good number of chances.
    • 73' The attendance at Wembley is a low for an England game at the new stadium: just 48,876 in tonight.
    • 72' Anders Svensson wins his 123rd cap when replacing Kallstrom. You may remember him from such teams as Southampton.
    • 70' Change for England as Zamora is replaced by Darren Bent. Zamora did okay in the role tonight.
    • 69' Zamora attempts to pick out Sturridge in the centre with a smart cross but Isaksson saves at his near post. At the other end, Carson plucks the ball out of the air from Larsson's delivery.
    • 68' There are Mexican waves working their way around Wembley. Shameful scenes at the home of football.
    • 67' Jones penalised for a clumsy push on Elmander as the striker was threatening to accelerate away and into space. No card though.
    • 66' First shot on target! Toivonen passes straight to Downing, who cuts in from the right and tests Isaksson with a firm low drive.
    • 64' Downing involved yet again. Baines picks him out with an outstanding ball and although Downing gets the cross in, Zamora sees his shot deflected wide. England can't make anything of the corner.
    • 62' Here is a quirky stat: England haven't had a shot on target yet. They have had 10 efforts in total with Sweden having seven. The Swedes haven't tested the keeper yet either.
    • 61' By the way, Czech Republic and Croatia have confirmed their places at Euro 2012. Ireland are close and Portugal have taken a crucial lead through Cristiano Ronaldo. Check the latest scores here
    • 60' Jones punts the ball forward to Zamora, who plays the ball heavily into the path of Sturridge with his first touch. The Chelsea man tries to trick his way past Olsson on the edge of the box but is muscled off the ball.
    • 58' Double change for England. Sturridge makes his debut when replacing Walcott and Milner comes on for Rodwell.
    • 57' Walker does well to cut out Larsson's corner at the near post. It appears England are also getting Danny Sturridge ready on the touchline.
    • 56' Wernbloom drives a shot well over the bar after Toivonen lays the ball off into his path. Wilhelmsson caused England some concern earlier in the move when darting into the box.
    • 55' England will make a change also as James Milner is stripping off. For Walcott perhaps, or Jones?
    • 54' Sweden make another change as Lustig is replaced by Christian Wilhelmsson.
    • 52' Substitute Toivonen finds space 20 yards from goal but cannot hit the target and test Carson in the England goal.
    • 51' Walker gives the ball away with a loose pass upfield but Kallstrom gets his own pass wrong as England recover.
    • 50' Zamora wins a header under pressure, allowing Rodwell - who has also looked lively - to ping a half-volley over the bar. A decent enough effort.
    • 49' Downing really has been excellent tonight on the left wing. His delivery has been immaculate.
    • 48' Downing stands up another excellent cross. Zamora heads back to Rodwell from the back post and the midfielder's shot is deflected wide.
    • 48' Downing prominent again in the early stages of the first half but Zamora is just unable to connect with his low cross.
    • 47' Meanwhile England have brought on Scott Carson for Hart in goal.
    • 47' Ola Toivonen and Jonas Olsson on for Mellberg and Ibrahimovic for Sweden.
    • 46' KICK OFF!

    • - Opta stat: "Stewart Downing created more chances in the first half v Sweden than in his previous 5 England apps combined (256 mins). Inspired."

    • 45' HALF-TIME. No stoppage time as England go into with a half-time lead thanks to Daniel Majstorovic's own goal. Phil Jones and Jack Rodwell should have added to the scoreline.
    • 44' Another huge chance! Nice build-up from England and Downing floats a gorgeous cross into the box that is met by Rodwell at the back post. He has the goal at his mercy but heads against the post.
    • 43' Another huge chance! Nice build-up from England and Downing floats a gorgeous cross into the box that is met by Rodwell at the back post. He has the goal at his mercy but heads against the post.
    • 42' Huge chance for England! Superb from Jones as he pounces on a loose ball in midfield, drives past a couple of markers and then pokes the ball past Isaksson with the outside of his right boot. However, it rolls agonisingly wide.
    • 40' Huge chance for England! Superb from Jones as he pounces on a loose ball in midfield, drives past a couple of markers and then pokes the ball past Isaksson with the outside of his right boot. However, it rolls agonisingly wide.
    • 39' Great chance! Baines darts away from Larsson and his cross finds Rodwell, who executes an acrobatic volley that deflects off a defender and bounces just past the post.
    • 38' Great chance! Baines darts away from Larsson and his cross finds Rodwell, who executes an acrobatic volley that deflects off a defender and bounces just past the post.
    • 37' Kallstrom is unhappy at getting pulled up for a foul on Rodwell and it appears Elmander's subsequent protestations have landed him in the referee's book.
    • 36' Downing and Zamora combine nicely when attempting to burst into space down the right but Sweden regroup to shut England out.
    • 35' Walcott races away again and is brought to earth by Kallstrom. Walcott is posing Sweden real problems. Terry can't connect with Downing's delivery from the free-kick though.
    • 34' Kim Kallstrom takes the corner from the opposite side and Elmander completely loses his marker to find the side netting with a header. That was a great chance.
    • 33' Kyle Walker is unsure how to deal with a cross from Lustig and flicks the ball out for a corner. Will England be punished? Nearly, as Hart is forced to claw the inswinger in from under the bar!
    • 32' Baines cuts out the cross from Elmander. This is a big game for Baines - he is the only realistic contender to topple Ashley Cole at left-back but in all honesty it is a very big ask for him.
    • 31' Larsson finds Ibrahimovic with a glorious ball over the top with the outside of his boot but the striker can't work space for a shot at goal.
    • 30' Mellberg with another hoof forward. Hart comes off his line to claim it and although he fumbles at first, Ibrahimovic is not near enough to capitalise.
    • 29' Olof Mellberg - another of the former Aston Villa brigade on display today - punts a crossfield ball into no man's land as Sweden lose possession pointlessly.
    • 27' Opta stat: "England are unbeaten in eight successive internationals, winning five."
    • 25' Well Barry might not have actually scored but like any classic No. 10 he set it up. Juan Roman Riquelme move over.
    • 24' Replays show it was a clear own goal as Barry's initial header was going wide. Daniel Majstorovic scores England's 2,000th international goal. What an honour!
    • 23' GOAL! England 1-0 Sweden! England's No. 10, Gareth Barry, scores England's 2,000th international goal. Baines and Downing combine nicely on the left of the box and Barry meets a cross from the Liverpool winger with a header that comes off Majstorovic and finds the far corner.
    • 22' Ouch. Wernbloom continues to bleed profusely from the nose. It's veritably streaming out.
    • 21' Leighton Baines gets into an advanced position for the first real time but his cross is cut out by goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson. England will be relying on Baines's service from wide positions tonight.
    • 20' Larsson threads a nice ball through the centre to Elmander but the striker is hustled out of possession by former Bolton team-mate Gary Cahill.
    • 19' Alex Chick at Wembley: "Phil Jones playing a deep role - almost the preposterous 'Quaterback' trialled by David Beckham. Is Jones the English Pirlo? #inawordno" Follow @alexchick81
    • 18' The first good chance of the game falls to England! Walcott and Zamora exchange passes and the Fulham striker slides in to poke the ball into the side netting after Lustig fails to clear.
    • 16' Zamora chases onto a ball over the top of the Swedish defence, but to no avail. Sweden are down to ten men as Wernbloom has bled onto his shirt and needs to be patched up.
    • 15' Walcott embarks on a slaloming run after winning a free ball but his cross is bundled away for a corner. From the set-piece both Barry and Terry fail to get an decisive head to the ball.
    • 13' Larsson it is but the Sunderland man, who we know can hit a brilliant free-kick, smacks his effort into the wall. England clear but Sweden win the ball back and Larsson feeds Ibrahimovic with a back-heel. His curling effort is well off target though.
    • 12' Free-kick to Sweden as Phil Jones brings down Pontus Wernbloom 20 yards from goal in a central position. Seb Larsson likes the look of this.
    • 11' Ibrahimovic picks out Mikael Lustig with a searching ball to the right but Leighton Baines closes him down.
    • 10' Opta stat: "Nine of the last 12 goals scored by England against Sweden have come in the first half."
    • 9' Just a note on the pitch: the Wembley turf has improved since those dodgy early days but it is a bit ropey tonight. Consecutive games in November clearly not doing wonders for the grass.
    • 7' Gareth Barry is wearing the No. 10 shirt and is also playing in behind the striker. What on earth is going on? Has the fabric of time and space been altered recently?
    • 6' Rodwell attempts to twist and get a cross into the box but succeeds in winning a throw. Zamora then goes to ground under a challenge from Celtic's Daniel Majstorovic and while there are a few hopful shouts for a penalty from the stands, play is waved on.
    • 5' In the early stages it appears as though Gareth Barry, yes that Gareth Barry, is the midfielder with the brief to roam high up the pitch ahead of Jack Rodwell and Phil Jones. Surely not though.
    • 4' Theo Walcott accelerates away from Martin Olsson down the right wing and cuts the ball back to Kyle Walker, who attempts to find Stewart Downing with a cross to the back post. The Liverpool winger can't connect though.
    • 3' England have already seen more of the ball than they did in the first half against Spain, probably. This time it is Sweden happy to sit deep in the early stages.
    • 3' Kyle Walker attempts a rather dangerous pass across the face of goal that forces John Terry to look lively and collect. He does so calmly though.
    • 2' Alex Chick reports from Wembley: "A healthy smattering of boos for John Terry. Probably an 80-20 split in his favour. #courtofpublicopinion"
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 19.57 Wayne Rooney is absent tonight of course as Fabio Capello says he wants to experiment with alternative options given the striker is currently suspended for the opening three games of Euro 2012. UEFA today said it will hear the FA's appeal against the sanction on December 9. UEFA reveals Rooney date
    • 19.57 The two sets of players walk onto the Wembley turf and it appears as though vast, vast swathes of the upper tier are completely clear. We are expecting Wembley's lowest ever attendance for an England game, though still in excess of 50,000. Now we observe the national anthems.
    • 19.55 I've given Mr Chick's Twitter account a shout-out and now it's my turn. If you want to see your comments featured here during the game then follow me on Twitter and drop me a message. I'll use as many as I can. Follow @tomEurosport
    • 19.50 Oh, and the next goal that England score will be their 2,000th in international football. Expect someone to enjoy that accolade tonight. My guess is Sturridge, from the bench, after Zamora has missed a sitter.
    • 19.45 Here are some pre-match stats to get you in the mood. Each of England's last 12 goals have been scored before the 52nd minute, so don't expect a late deluge. Joe Hart has played 15 times for England without losing, winning 11, which is the best run of any player since Euro '96. Sweden have won seven of their past nine games, losing their other two. England face bogey side Sweden
    • 19.40 Our man Alex Chick is on the scene at Wembley and will be tweeting throughout the game, so make sure you get following him now. He's just spotted a Swedish sub with a rather unusual name. Follow @alexchick81
    • 19.35 England are buoyed by a 1-0 win over world and European champions Spain on Saturday, but in truth they were lucky to get anything from that game. Spain dominated possession, had far more chances and hit the post through David Villa. England defended stoutly but will need to show a bit more endeavour tonight against a Sweden side they will be expected to beat on home turf.
    • 19.30 We have focused on England's captain but his opposite number, Ibrahimovic, is a fascinating figure. He has a poor reputation in England having so often failed to impress in the country but is without doubt one of Europe's most formidable strikers on his day. Fabio Capello certainly rates him: "He is a really good player who can decide a top-level game in a single moment. I bought him as Juventus manager and for this reason, I know how important he is for Sweden."
    • 19.25 Primarily, though, this is of course a football match and a very useful warm-up for England ahead of the Euro 2012 finals next summer. Sweden claimed their place at Poland and Ukraine due to their status as the best runners-up across the groups and will be decent opposition, especially when you consider that England have not beaten them in 43 years, and for 12 games - the longest such run England have ever gone without beating an opponent.
    • 19.20 By the way, the FA blocked any questions regarding 'it' when Terry faced the media on Monday. The skipper did say he was "totally focused" and that he was in a "great frame of mind" ahead of the friendly against Sweden though. FA bans Terry questions
    • 19.15 England's side has a very experimental look to it, with Phil Jones once again slotting into midfield and alongside the similarly inexperienced Rodwell. It's still a shame Capello can't find space for Sturridge though. Particularly in a front three that looks pedestrian at best. Sweden have a few familiar faces in Seb Larsson, Martin Olsson, Johan Elmander and, of course, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
    • 19.10 TEAMS: England: Hart, Walker, Cahill, Terry, Baines, Jones, Barry, Rodwell, Walcott, Zamora, Downing. /// Sweden: Isaksson, Lustig, Majstorovic, Mellberg, M. Olsson, Elm, Kallstrom, Larsson, Wernbloom, Elmander, Ibrahimovic.
    • 19.05 We have the England team news filtering in and as expected Fabio Capello makes plenty of changes from the side that beat Spain 1-0. Only Joe Hart, Phil Jones and Theo Walcott retain their places. Danny Welbeck had to return to Manchester United with an injury so Bobby Zamora starts up front, but there is no place for in-form Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge in England's 4-3-3 formation. Zamora, Kyle Walker and Jack Rodwell make their first starts.
    • 19.00 So here we are, then. 'It' has been prominent in the build-up to tonight's contest, even if talk of 'it' was banned from John Terry's pre-match press conference. But when the teams are read out at Wembley and the name of England's captain booms across the tannoy, we will hear whether the English public have formed a judgement about the as-yet-unresolved race row. Terry received some applause when warming up against Spain but whether Wembley will be as kind tonight remains to be seen. Parker: Pressure back on Terry
