    • 75' GOAL! 3-1 Scotland! McCormack makes it three with an assured run and calm finish into the bottom corner. That's game, set and match Scotland.

    • 44' Berra plays a poor ball to Caldwell, who has to stretch for the ball - and he catches Holman late. Holman has to hobble off for now.
    • 42' Naismith picks out Maloney, who twists and turns into space in the penalty box - but can't get his shot away.
    • 40' Scotland playing at a really decent tempo but are just struggling to make the final ball count.
    • 37' Adam drives forward through the centre of the field, and with Australia backpedaling, slides the ball through to Rhodes - but Schwarzer uses all of his experience and comes out to smother.
    • 34' Bresciano tees up Holman, who lets fly from 25 yards - but the ball sails just over.
    • 32' Snodgrass cuts in from the right and goes for the curler into the top corner, but it doesn't quite bend back towards goal in time.
    • 30' Australia knocking the ball around nicely at the moment. They haven't let Scotland gain any momentum after drawing level.
    • 28' GOAL! Rhodes scores for Scotland on his first senior start! Danny Fox drills a cross in from the left and Rhodes beats his man and glances the ball into the far corner. Lovely header, lovely goal.

    • 9' Bresciano whips the corner into the danger area, but Scotland are able to clear their lines.
    • 8' First Australia attack sees Naismith concede a corner.
    • 6' Morrison goes for goal from distance, but his effort deflects out for a corner. Adam whips the resulting corner into the box, but Berra's effort goes into the upper tier.
    • 5' All Scotland here
    • 4' Moments later Hutton thrashes a ball into the box again, but it's an inch or two too high for Rhodes again.
    • 3' Big chance for Scotland as Rhodes gets on the end of a cross from the right, but can't quite fashion a shooting opportunity before Australia get it away.

    • 19.55 The national anthems are being belted out as we approach kick off at Easter Road.
    • 19.50 SCOTLAND: McGregor, Webster, Caldwell, Berra, Hutton, Snodgrass, Adam, Morrison, Fox, Naismith, Rhodes. SUBS: Gilks, Goodwillie, Mulgrew, Phillips, McCormack, Maloney, Cowie, Black, Bannan, Martin, Marshall /// AUSTRALIA: Schwarzer, Williams, Ognenovski, Neill, Carney, Kruse, Valeri, Bresciano, Wilkshire, Holman, Brosque. SUBS: Langerak, Thompson, McDonald, McGowan, Jedinak, Kilkenny, Davidson, Federici.
    • 19.40 Holger Osieck (Australia) on the thorny issue of August friendlies: "There have been talks and I'm pretty sure there has been a decision made that this date will be skipped in future. I'd say four weeks later or so because some seasons haven't even started, players they've come from pre-season, played a couple of club friendlies and now they're playing international games."
    • 19.30 Scotland coach Craig Levein on the issue of picking players from the Scottish Third Division: "What happened is that some people chose to take half a quote and use that. It is fairly straightforward. What I said when I announced the squad is that it will be more difficult for the Rangers players to get into the international team because the standard in the Third Division isn't akin to international football."
    • 19.20 Veteran duo Harry Kewell and Tim Cahill will not be involved in the match - ex-Liverpool man Kewell has been given the match off as he looks to sort out his club future, while Cahill has recently joined New York Red Bulls.
    • 19.15 Socceroos coach Holger Osieck has named a 20-man squad for the match at Easter Road. A number of English-based players past-and-present and likely to start including Mark Schwarzer, Lucas Neill and Brett Holman.
    • 19.10 Allan McGregor is likely to take his place in goal with a number of Premier League players set to play in front of him including Gary Caldwell and Alan Hutton. Levein could opt for a five-man midfield with Huddersfield’s Jordan Rhodes given an opportunity to lead the line.
    • 19.05 Craig Levein's initial 24-man squad has been hit by a number of withdrawals including Celtic winger James Forrest (groin) and QPR forward Jamie Mackie (calf). Midfielder Ian Black and strikers Ross McCormack and David Goodwillie have all received late calls-up.

  6. Is this really Scotland fans booing a scotsman that has earned his place in the team not just because Levin picked him, because he merited it. Once again we see the mindless chewheids that castigate someone because of what club he plays for. Get over it whankers and move on, will these same fans even turn up for a game when their own clubs go pop, which incidently isnt too far away
