    • 90+4' FULL TIME: Spain 3-1 Uruguay. Thanks for joining us.
    • 90+3' Uruguay almost out on their feet now as Spain probe once more. Uruguay win it back. Time nearly up...
    • 90+2' Spain finishing in style. Lovely turn and cross from Isco but Villa puts it over the bar under pressure from the keeper. Close again.
    • 90+1' Great one-two from Villa off the defender Lugano and it’s a fine save from Muslera to prevent 4-1.
    • 90' Shot from Negredo well over the bar. Ambitious. Time nearly up here. There will be four added minutes!
    • 89' Suarez tries to pick out Forlan but it’s Azpilicueta to the rescue. Good defending as he nods it back to Valdes.
    • 88' The free kick comes in from Fabregas but Ramos heads it well over.
    • 87' Spain win a free kick deep in the Uruguay half after a foul by Godin. Another chance.
    • 86' The humidity finally beginning to tell and this could peter out now. Uruguay looking for one more as they come forward.
    • 85' Both Forlan and Suarez were just offside on closer inspection.
    • 84' A fine pass from Aguirregaray but Suarez is just, just offside. My that was close. Actually looked onside and Suarez would have been clean through.
    • 83' Isco hits the deck. Free kick to Spain. Time running out for Uruguay.
    • 82' Aguirregaray’s ball through the middle is nearly perfect for Suarez. Just cut out in time.
    • 81' Uruguay enjoying a late spell of possession. If they pull one back, it’s game on again. Shot comes in from Gargano and it’s wide.
    • 80' Aguirregaray comes on for the injured Gonzalez.
    • 79' Gonzalez has gone off for treatment, holding an ice pack to his face.
    • 79' Spain sub: Alba off for Monreal.
    • 78' Gonzalez has gone down after receiving a nasty knee in the cheek from Ramos. Unintentional.
    • 77' Uruguay sub: Lodeiro off for Gargano.
    • 76' So that was Pedro’s last contribution and what a contribution it’s been. Two goals.
    • 75' Spain sub: Pedro off for Negredo.
    • 74' GOAL Spain! Villa plays it wide to Fabregas whose sumptuous cross falls to Pedro who slides it home. Great goal.
    • 73' A Mexican wave goes around the stadium. Surely they can’t be bored? This has been a cracking match!
    • 72' Suarez is nearly in again but Alba and Pique do just enough.
    • 71' A few tired legs out there what with this 70% humidity. Will the subs have an impact?
    • 70' Uruguay sub: Forlan on for Cavani. Spain sub: Suarez on for Cazorla.
    • 69' Uruguay sub: Castro on for Rodriguez.
    • 68' Azpilicueta plays it across the box to Isco but his shot is blocked. The new cap hungry for a goal.
    • 67' Great ball from Rodriguez to Cavani and he really should have done better with his header. Couldn’t quite get over it properly.
    • 66' Lovely pass from Villa towards Isco but Muslera is out early to snaffle the danger.
    • 65' Uruguay sub: Diego Perez off for Arevalo
    • 64' A little tiredness creeping in but Suarez wriggles in the box again and nearly engineers a shot.
    • 63' Wonderful passing from Spain but Uruguay keep their shape and again break up the attack. Back come Spain again...
    • 62' Another little niggly moment as Caceres kicks the ball away in frustration.
    • 61' This match has been played at a frantic pace but still no subs for Uruguay as yet. Cavani has been running his socks off.
    • 60' A slip lets in David Villa and he goes for the curler but it’s just wide. If he squared it, Isco may have scored with his first international touch!
    • 59' Spain sub: Isco on for his first cap for Iniesta.
    • 58' Lugano eventually gets it clear as Spain nearly find that vital pass.
    • 57' More afters and this game is a couple of challenges away from another incident. The referee must take control. This is getting far from friendly!
    • 56' Play continues and Cavani is through and goes for goal. It’s going into the far corner and Valdes tips it past the post with an excellent save! Great match here.
    • 55' Alba shown the yellow card for tangling with Lugano. He slaps him across the face and is lucky not to get another card. All getting a bit nasty as players dive in. Ramos also booked.
    • 54' Suarez breaks forward and sets up Rodriguez with a great chance to level but he dallies too long and a last ditch tackle rescues Spain.
    • 53' Spain pressing, pressing for that third. Fabregas turns Gonzalez and it caught. Free kick.
    • 52' So Uruguay with it all to do again. They gave possession away and Spain punished them.
    • 51' GOAL Spain! Pique sets up Pedro with a lovely little ball and the striker arrows it into the bottom corner.
    • 50' Good run and cross from Alba and he wins a corner. Chance for Spain but Uruguay clear.
    • 49' Early touch for Villa but it’s broken up by Caceres. Gonzalez nearly plays in Cavani again but his first touch lets him down and it’s out for a goal kick.
    • 48' Suarez close to playing in Cavani again. Uruguay starting confidently. Suarez nearly wriggles into the box. Cazorla tugged back. Free kick.
    • 47' Early free kick for Uruguay. Lodeiro plays it in but Lugano is penalised for a foul.
    • 46' Spain sub: Villa and Pique on as Mata and Puyol go off to admire his silver Oryx.
    • 45' We’re back underway here in Qatar. Carlos Puyol was presented with what looks like a silver Oryx at half time to commemorate his 100th cap.
    • 45+1' HALF TIME: A highly entertaining half and it ends Spain 1-1 Uruguay. Join us shortly for the second half.
    • 45' Ramos takes and blasts it into the wall. We have one added minute here.
    • 43' More pressure from Spain in the Uruguay third. Pedro is blocked and Spain have a free kick. Good chance now.
    • 42' An excellent challenge on the edge of the box from Caceres to dispossess Cazorla.
    • 41' Uruguay have got back well in numbers when defending and they win another free kick for an Alba foul.
    • 40' Suarez bursts down the right again but is adjudged to have fouled Gonzalez. Godin fouls Fabregas and probably should have gone in the book for that one.
    • 39' Some players playing at such a frantic pace that they know they’re not going to play the full 90 mins. Cavani has been everywhere.
    • 38' Lovely little trick from Iniesta, lobbing it over his marker. A good challenge wins it back for Uruguay.
    • 37' Cazorla wins a free kick from Suarez and is limping. He’ll run it off though.
    • 36' It’s given away cheaply to Fabregas who squares to Mata and Muslera is down with a confidence boosting save.
    • 35' Azpilicueta works space on the right and gets the cross in but Uruguay clear and just fail to set Suarez away on the counter.
    • 34' Cavani has now had three good chances where his touch has let him down.
    • 33' Mata’s shot is blocked. Suarez plays in Cavani who’s first touch lets him down. He pulls it back and turns Alba before going down. Nothing given though.
    • 32' How will Spain react now? Uruguay have deserved to get on terms. Could easily be 2-2.
    • 31' GOAL Uruguay! And Rodriguez draws them level. Another great little ball and a lovely finish past Valdes.
    • 30' Great little through ball from Suaraz to Cavani and the flag stays down. Cavani’s touch lets him down and the chance is gone.
    • 29' Puyol has it in the net with a great flick. It would have been a fairytale goal but he’s flagged just offside. Great finish though for a centre half!
    • 28' Apart from that keeping howler, Uruguay really have done well here. Mata forces a corner.
    • 27' Mata does well down the right wing but then gives it straight back to Cavani with an uncharacteristically bad pass.
    • 26' Space opens up for Cavani and he shoots but it’s well over.
    • 25' Nice triangles by Uruguay but again Puyol is there like a rock to head clear for a goal kick. Suarez complaining that Azpilicueta is play acting after catching an elbow...
    • 24' Uruguay give it away and Mata plays it to Fabregas. His shot is saved. Lively stuff.
    • 23' Suarez runs at Puyol again and it’s the veteran who comes out with the ball. Uruguay giving it a go.
    • 22' Suarez curls it in from the free kick and it’s a great ball. Nobody there to take advantage and Spain survive.
    • 21' Cavani fouled this time and Uruguay are edging back into this one. A strong challenge from Busquets on Pereira and he is booked.
    • 20' Rodriguez heads it onto Cavani but he’s a couple of yards offside. Valdes saved the shot anyway. Good game.
    • 19' Iniesta plays it into Puyol and he has a half chance to score on his 100th game but slices the shot. Uruguay counter up the field and win a corner.
    • 18' Spain force a corner. Mata takes and the defence hacks it clear for Uruguay.
    • 17' A great ball towards Cavani who is in behind the Spain defence. One little touch and he would have taken it past the keeper. Great response from Uruguay.
    • 16' It was a speculative effort and it only moved a yard. It’s a terrible error from the keeper and that will haunt him.
    • 15' GOAL Spain! It’s a long range effort from Fabregas that swerves in the air but it’s a howler from Muslera who fumbles it into the net.
    • 14' Nice little ball to Suarez on the right wing but Alba takes the ball off him. The game starting to open up.
    • 13' Remember, no place in the Spanish squad for either Torres or Michu tonight. A good run by Rodriguez but he’s stopped in his tracks. Free kick to Spain.
    • 12' Spain already looking effortless in possession. And when Uruguay do win the ball they are conceding it back too easily.
    • 11' This time Pereira is the culprit and a foul on half way gives the ball back to Spain.
    • 10' A few niggles and eventually Pedro is penalised for a foul on Pereira.
    • 9' Good build-up but a poor ball from Azpilicueta goes out for a goal kick.
    • 8' Fabregas finds Azpilicueta and the ball falls back to Busquets who drives the first shot in on goal. Muslera is down well to save.
    • 7' Uruguay doing a lot of chasing as they will for most of the evening. The South Americans win it back and use Cavani as an outlet. This will be possession versus counter attack tonight.
    • 6' Mata appears to be bundled over but the referee plays on. It’s too long for Suarez and Valdes has it.
    • 5' Cazorla wins a free kick in a dangerous area. Mata plays it in but Uruguay head clear.
    • 4' A great run in behind the defence from Suarez and Puyol shows good pace to get back and tackle. Great start to this match.
    • 3' Spain with much of the early possession already. Caceres in with a strong challenge and concedes a throw. Azpilicueta with a couple of early touches on his first cap.
    • 2' Uruguay win the first free kick of the night after a foul from Busquets.
    • 1' Referee Fahad Al Marri blows the whistle to get us underway here in 70% humidity! It is, of course, Carlos Puyol's 100th cap.
    • 17.55 Five minutes to kick off. Match odds: Spain (4/6) Uruguay (19/4), Draw (13/5).
    • 17.50 Oscar Tabarez: “We know our objectives for this match and this is an important match. We have a player [Cavani] who is the top scorer in Italy. We also have Suarez who is doing really well in the Premier League. We will try to do our best in the match.”
    • 17.45 Vicente del Bosque: "This is an exciting game against the team that were semi-finalists in the last World Cup. This is a great chance to show why we won the last World Cup and the European Championship. The Spanish Football Federation's policy is to play matches all over the world to promote football, above all in countries with little footballing tradition. Playing the match here is perfectly justified, because it will be the host country for the 2022 World Cup."
    • 17.40 Despite the quality on show in Qatar, star name Xavi misses out with a hamstring injury as well as Xabi Alonso (groin) and regular captain Iker Casillas (broken hand). Uruguay lost Gaston Ramirez after the midfielder suffered a leg injury while playing for Southampton at the weekend. Other than that, Oscar Tabarez has a strong starting team with Luis Suarez, Edinson Cavani all starting.
    • 17.35 TEAMS: Spain: Valdes, Azpilicueta, Ramos, Puyol, Alba, Iniesta, Busquets, Cazorla, Pedro, Fabregas, Mata /// Uruguay: Muslera, Pereira, Lugano, Godin, Caceres, Gonzalez, Diego Perez, Lodeiro, Cristian Rodriguez, Cavani, Suarez.
