    • FT Milan miss out on the opportunity to jump above Roma into sixth. It was a frustrating night all round for the Rossoneri, they never seemed to get into their stride.
    • 93+3' And that's full-time. A spirited performance from Sampdoria but they will be kicking themselves for dropping two points here, Milan looked very beatable this evening.
    • 90+3' Milan play it short and Mexes hits a first time cross for Boeteng, who heads the ball wide, but the flag is up.
    • 90+2' Milan have a free-kick 40 yards out. Surely the last chance of the game.
    • 90' Very nearly a controversial ending here. De Sciglio looks to have let the ball run out of play but the referee, rightly, waves play on. Boateng fires wildly over and that looks likely to be the last real chance.
    • 90' We’re into stoppage time here.
    • 87' Milan win a corner and it’s a good delivery from De Sciglio but Obiang rises to head away. He has been the best player in blue today.
    • 86' Both sides make their final substitutions. Bojan, who looked off colour today, comes off for Nocerino, while Krsticic comes off for Mustafi.
    • 85' A testing cross from De Sciglio on the right nearly finds Robinho in the middle but Romero is there to smother the loose ball.
    • 84' If there is a goal in this game now is the time to get it. This time it is Sampdoria in possession and Obiang finds space to have a shot but it is charged down by Mexes.
    • 82' Mistake from Costa gathered by Flamini but once again the Sampdoria man makes up for his error by dispossessing the Frenchman.
    • 81' Tissone steps on the ball outside his area and Flamini gathers, but the defender makes up for his error with a well-timed tackle to send the ball out for another corner. Mexes meets the corner strongly but heads straight at Romero.
    • 80' Another corner from the other side causes problems for Sampdoria but they clear it on the second attempt.
    • 79' A poorly taken Milan corner nearly finds the head of Robinho but Samp clear.
    • 78' Another change for the home side. It’s the impressive Poli coming off to be replaced by Tissone.
    • 77' Niang has been more influential in this half but so far Milan are lacking any kind of cutting edge right now.
    • 76' Good work from Robinho for Milan. The Brazilian cuts off the left wing and sends a ball in search of Niang, who is just unable to reach the cross. Romero gathers.
    • 75' A hopeful ball forward from Costa finds nobody and Milan are happy to let the ball run through to Abbiati.
    • 74' Sampdoria looking to make inroads in Milan's half but Poli is unable to bring down Costa's long ball forward. There is a break in play as Poli struggles with cramp. He has been all over the field for Samp this evening.
    • 72' Yellow card for Milan's Naing as he catches Costa with a flailing arm.
    • 71' Milan think they have won corner after good work from Flamini down the right wing, but the ball bounced off the Frenchman and out.
    • 70' First change for the hosts. Roberto Sorrano comes on for Estigarribia.
    • 68' A calm pass forward from Montolivo gets Milan into Sampdoria's half for the first time in a while but once again Sampdoria clear their lines.
    • 67' A cross from Eder is closed down by Constant, who manages to prevent the ball going out for a corner. Samp now in control it would seem.
    • 66' A change for Milan and not a surprising one. Robinho replaces a subdued El Shaarawy.
    • 65' Just wide again from Sampdoria. The influential De Silvestri once again finds space on the right and he fires across Abbiati's goal.
    • 64' The fans are getting value for mone so far as this is a quite frenetic match - you can't help but feel the first goal will be crucial. Mexes nearly allows Icardi in on goal with a wayward backheel but the ball falls just short of the Samp striker.
    • 62' And in response Samp waste their best chance of the evening at the other end. Static defending allows Icardi into a one-on-one with Abbiati, but the youngster fires wide of the post with just the keeper to beat. Somehow we are still at 0-0.
    • 60' Somehow Sampdoria are still level. Easily Milan's best chance so far as Bojan wriggles free of his defender and pokes the ball across goal. Boateng gets across to knock it towards goal but Romero is there to block it on the line
    • 59' Samp look to build something from halfway but Zapata deflects a Poli pass into touch for a throw-in.
    • 57' We’ve got a break in play here, Icardi is coming off briefly after a collision with Zapata on half way but he should be fit to continue.
    • 56' Positive play from Milan once again as De Sciglio makes a break on the right but he can’t find Bojan with his cross.
    • 55' De Sciglio is brought down on the right wing but play continues – Samp attack through the influential Eder but he is dispossessed by Mexes.
    • 54' Niang has another chance – he gets the ball on the edge of the area and turns and shoots, but he can’t keep his effort down. He’s looked much better this half so far.
    • 53' Mistake from Zapata at the the end gives Eder possession inside the area but his weak shot is easily gathered by Abbiati.
    • 52' Milan are looking much improved but are so far being kept at bay by Sampdoria. They work patiently through the phases but the home side stand firm, and De Sciglio hits a cross from the right which goes out for a goal kick
    • 51' Zapata hits a hopeful ball towards El Shaarawy in the area but it is headed clear by Palombo.
    • 50' Some big tackles flying in now. Poli catches Montolivo and gives away a free-kick inside Milan’s half
    • 49' Milan come forward once more and a low cross from Niang on the left is dealt with by Gastaldello. This is much better from the visiting side.
    • 48' Great response from Sampdoria – they charge up the other end and a Poli shot from 30 yards takes a wild deflection off of Zapata and just creeps wide of Abbiati’s goal.
    • 47' Milan appeal for a handball as the corner appears to strike the arm of a Samp player, but it is not given. It did look like it may have been a legitimate shout.
    • 46' Immediate chance for Milan! The visitors start strongly and Niang finds some space on the right, and his shot is pushed wide by Romero.
    • 46' The players are back out on the field and we’re ready for the second half as the home side get things back underway.
    • HT Perhaps the crowd reaction is getting to El Shaarawy? As a player who started his career at rivals Genoa, he's been booed whenever he's touched the ball so far.
    • HT We have our first response on Twitter. @loydaclark says: "El Shaarawy to rescue Milan again? Seems a pretty common theme." The 20-year-old was pretty anonymous in that first half.
    • HT What did everyone make of that first half? Samp certainly don't look like a side three points above the relegation zone. Tweet me your thoughts on @natesaund
    • 45' And it’s 0-0 at the interval.Gastaldello will feel he should have put the hosts in front with that wasted header but Samp will go in the happier of the two sides after that opening period .
    • 45' Two chances in quick succession to end the half for Samp. A low corner from De Silvestri is flicked speculatively towards goal by Eder, before Kristicic heads over as the referee brings proceedings to a close.
    • 44' De Sciglio gets a talking to from the referee after a rather clumsy challenge on Poli - but this time he keeps his cards in his pocket.
    • 43' Wasteful from Bojan at the other end. The former Barcelona frontman finds space down the middle with a promising run but, with Montolivio in support, he fires aimlessly wide from outside the area.
    • 42' The curling free-kick is easily dealt with by Milan centre-back Mexes.
    • 41' Sampdoria once again win some space on the right wing and manage to win themselves a free-kick in a promoising position 30 yards out.
    • 40' A Di Silvestri corner from the right is easily dealt with by Constant. Still end-to-end stuff in Genoa but so far no goals
    • 39' With Ambrosini already going off injured for Milan, Bojan appears to be limping but has so far not been replaced
    • 38' Another one from Montolivio goes close for Milan. Patient build-up play once again from the visitors and the midfielder fires it over from outside the area.
    • 37' First booking of the day and it's Mexes for the visitors as he brings down Kristicic on the halfway line.
    • 36' Corner for Milan. It zips in from the left towards Flamini but Palombo is there to clear his lines

    • 31' Great tackle from Eder in his own half to catch Bojan in possession. This is a really committed display from the men in blue so far
    • 30' Good link up play from Montolivio and Flamini in the midfield for Milan but Boateng overhits his ball forward and Romero easily collects

    • 26' Chance for Bojan. Did well on the edge of the area to take find space but he can’t keep his shot down

    • 24' Milan have been forced to make their first chance. Captain Ambrosini comes off for former Arsenal man Matheiu Flamini
    • 23' Milan happy to slow the tempo down. Passing the ball slowly around in the defence - they are lucky to still be on level terms so far

    • 17' Another dangerous cross from the right from Samp. This time it’s Poli with the cross but Icardi can’t quite stretch enough to make the header. The home side’s distribution from the wings has been superb so far.
    • 15' Palombo easily clears a low De Sciglio cross – if Milan are to get into this game they will need better supply to their front men than that.
    • 14' Milan have not been able to get into this game so far. Sampdoria have started the brighter of the two teams and are currently enjoying the better of possession
    • 13' Hopeful ball forward from Obiang nearly lands perfectly for Icardi but the young forward just can't bring it down properly
    • 12' Dangerous stuff from the corner for the visitors - Milan do not deal with the cross properly whatsoever and the ball bounces across the six-yard box. If a blue shirt had been there it would have been 1-0 to the hosts

    • 7' Sampdoria are first to everything at the moment and are starting to turn the screws themselves now – Poli nearly finds himself in space after an error from Constant
    • 6' End to end stuff here! Poli forces Abbiati into another save, with Milan once again leaving far too much room on the edge of the area. The midfielder's curling shot is pushed over by Abbiati for the first corner of the game - that's got the crowd going
