    • 90+4' And that's the final whistle! 0-0 here, which on the balance of play is probably a fair result.
    • 90+3' Pinillos drags down Dominguez as the Valencia midfielder looks to break. Yellow card.
    • 90+2' It's all Racing now as they look to push home their numerical advantage.
    • 89' Canales should have scored! Munitis whipped a dangerous cross in which beat the Valencia defence but Canales could only lamely prod the ball high and wide!
    • 86' Red Card! Navarro is off for a second yellow! That's incredibly harsh. Christian tried to chip a pass past him and it hit his arm. The ref blew for a free kick and shrugged and gave him his second yellow. That was hardly deliberate! As if he sympathises with Valencia, Canales' delivery is really poor and goes for a goal kick.
    • 85' Racing break forward in numbers but fail to engineer a good shooting opportunity. Munitis was in space wide on the left but Canales failed to use him.
    • 82' Valencia claim a penalty as Dominguez goes down in the box. The ref has none of it though and signals a goal kick. Good decision, Dominguez had just stopped and waited for the Racing defender to run into him.
    • 79' Mata has stamped on Colsa's face by accident after the Racing player tackled him fairly. He looks okay to contine though.
    • 76' We're back underway and Baraj tries a long range strike after nice passing from Valencia. Coltorti watches it all the way into his hands.
    • 73' This games has gotten really stretched. Both sides sense that they could win it here. The action is currently at a lull as Joel receives treatment for cramp.
    • 72' Valencia subs: Pablo and Maduro go off to be replaced by Joaquin and Maneul Fernandes
    • 70' Moral who has just come on for Arana for Racing gets booked for a foul on Mata
    • 66' Moya with another save! This time from Canales! The youngster really should have scored. He had time to pick his spot as the ball was cut back to him, but failed to put it far enough away from Moya.
    • 64' Dominguez beats about four players in a very tight space with some quick footwork, then loses control of the ball slightly and concedes a foul after sliding in a bit too late trying to win the ball. He gets a yellow card for his troubles which is perhaps harsh. That was his first foul.
    • 62' Finally! A good ball from Pablo! Villa gets a head to it, but he can't quite direct his shot on target and it's wide and right of the goal.
    • 59' Canales gets free wide on the right and tries a dipping volley which has Moya beaten, but just lands on the roof of the net! That would have been some goal!
    • 58' Valencia sub: David Silva is replaced by Alejandro Dominquez. Silva must be injured as he's looked really good so far.
    • 57' Moya makes a brilliant save! Racing break quickly and Arana plays a one-two with Tchite, races behind the Valencia defence and tries to slip a shot past Moya who gets a great hand to it and Dealbert can get back in tiem to clear.
    • 55' Valencia appeal for a penalty as Silva goes down in the box. He was trying to get on the end of a cross from Villa there. It does look a little bit like he was pushed over there.
    • 53' A lovely turn from Tchite gives him space to lash a shot, which very nearly surprises Moya, before he gathers the ball at the second attempt.
    • 50' Lovely again from Silva, he really has looked excellent today. He finds Villa who cuts inside onto his right foot but Henrique does well and gets a block as Villa shapes to bend it into the bottom right.
    • 47' Again it's end to end stuff. First Pablo fires a shot wide, and then Canales gets the ball just outside the Valencia box and tries to go past Navarro but is bundled to the ground. No foul though says the ref.
    • 45' And we're back underway.
    • 45' Sub for Racing at half time: Pedro Munitis replaces Oscar Serrano
    • - An exciting first half has seen plenty of goal mouth action, but we're still goalless here at the Mestalla. David Villa has strangely missed one clear cut chance, but the two best players have been David Silva and Sergio Canales.
    • 45+1' The corner for Racing comes to nothing and just one minute of added time is played.
    • 45' Racing are three on three against Valencia defence! Canales uses both runners as decoys and goes himself! He beats one man, but then Moya makes an excellent save to turn the ball behind for a corner. Canales looks some player.
    • 40' Villa trys an effort from distance, but it's miles wide.
    • 39' Tchite finds a way behind the Valencia defence with Navarro in close attendance! They both pull and tug at each others arms and shirts before Tchite shanks a shot wide right of the goal! Tchite probably could have gone down there, I'm surprised he didn't.
    • 38' I have just been informed that the yellow card I thought was for Joel, was actually given to Navarro for whinging to the ref. So, Joel is just being protected as he's not having a great game.
    • 36' Valencia win a free kick after Villa is fouled. Pablo stands over it looking to deliver, but sensibly touches it back for Joel to cross. However, his delivery too is very poor and the keeper collects.
    • 35' That man again, Silva, produces a quite breathtaking flick to find Mata down the left. He twists and turns, but the balld eventually is played off him for a goal kick.
    • 34' A lovely ball from Silva finds Mata on the left, but his shot is into the side netting.
    • 33' Silva it was who won the free kick and Silva it is who takes it. His first shot is straight into the wall, and the second from the rebound is dragged miles wide.
    • 32' Valencia win a free-kick right on the edge of the area. The ref appeared to be happy to let play on, but suddenly brought play back some seconds later. Racing are not best pleased.
    • 30' Looks like Unai Emery has done the sensible thing and swapped Joel and Alexis around. Now Joel won't have to deal with the tricky Canales and risk getting sent off.
    • 28' David Silva is everywhere at the moment. He seems to be able to find space at will, and Valencia are looking to find him at every opportunity.
    • 26' Silva again plays in Pablo down the right, and again his delivery finds no one.
    • 24' It's all Valencia at the moment. Pablo is getting far too much space down the right. So far though, he has yet to produce a decent cross
    • 21' Villa hits the post!! A counter attack from Valencia sees Mata and Silva link up really well and then find Villa in acres of space on the right of the penalty area. His first touch isn't great, but then his shot beats the keeper, hits the post, hits a defender and then his follow up is wildly smashed over!
    • 20' Oh dear, Joel unnecessarily takes out Canales and is booked. He's going to have a very touch game now.
    • 19' I still can't believe that Villa missed that, he dropped off his marker and a lovely ball from Mata found him with time to take a touch and he had only the keeper to beat. Well played by Coltorti though.
    • 18' Lovely passing from Valencia and David Villa is found in space in the penalty area!! And it's saved! Good save, but you'd have put your house on the clinical Villa putting that away! (And would have lost it).
    • 14' Free-kick for Valencia as Maduro connects with Serrano while clearing a ball. That was a 50-50 really, but Serrano went down screaming after getting a kick. Maduro got a booking as well. The delivery from Arana is poor and is out for a goal kick.
    • 13' Racing are looking to play down Valencia's right at every opportunity looking to take advantage of the inexperience of the 17-year-old right back Joel.
    • 11' Suddenly Racing press Valencia high up the pitch and are nearly in good shooting positions twice with good defending from Alexis and then Navarro preventing any shots on goal.
    • 10' Scrappy passages of play with both teams looking to play nice triangles across the pitch but just failing to string together more than four passes
    • 7' There's a stoppage while Tchite receives treatment after a clash of heads with Dealbert.
    • 5' A poor cross from Pablo Hernandez goes straight to Coltorti when Villa and Mata were in space..
    • 4' Canales then does well to beat Joel down the left and gets a cross away which is turned behind for a corner. Canales takes, but the ball is cleared by Alexis.
    • 2' An early sign of danger for Valencia as the flag stays down as Canales gets in behind the Valencia defence. The flag does eventually go up, however the keeper already has the ball in his hands.
    • 1' Valencia with an early corner, but the keeper claims well.
    • 1' And we're off with Valencia kicking off and playing left-to-right.
    • - Racing have been in poor form recently, but will be hoping that their young starlet, Sergio Canales, who recently signed for Real Madrid will be able to conjure up something special.
    • - Valencia are missing Carlos Marchena and Miguel who are suspended following red cards in their last match against Atletico in which they lost 4-1. Joel, the right back, is making his starting debut aged just 17-years-old.
    • - Racing Santander team: Coltorti; Christian, Oriol, Henrique, Pinillos; Diop, Colsa; Serrano, Canales, Arana; Tchite.
    • - Valencia team: Moya; Joel, Navarro, Dealbert, Alexis; Baraja, Maduro; Hernandes, Silva, Mata; Villa
    • - Racing Santander have a brilliant record at the Mestalla and have won three and drawn one of their last four league games
    • - If Valencia win tonight they weill strengthen their hold on third place tonight and open up a six point lead over Sevilla who lost to Real Madrid at the weekend.
