    Time:90'
    • Middlesbrough
    • Sunderland
    • 90+2 And that's it. A pulsating end to the match, but on reflection a draw is just about a fair result. Middlesbrough have not won in nine, while Sunderland conitue to build on a promising start under new boss Ricky Sbragia.
    • 90 Middlesbrough have a late corner and opportunity to win it but Sunderland break and Cisse is through...what a last ditch tackle from McMahon.
    • 89' It's all Sunderland. Four minutes of added time and the home side are hanging on.
    • 88' Clearance off the line from Johnson, Sunderland claim it's in. Desperately unlucky for Edwards. The ball is returned into the box by Reid and Cisse attempts an audacious back heeled flick that just goes over.
    • 85' An ambitious effort from distance is Alves last contribution of the match. He's off for Mido.
    • 82' Jones gets a card for excessive celebration.
    • 82' GOAL for Jones. What a substitution. Another counter attack. Healy crosses for Jones to arrive late and tap home from six yards out. Excellent work. 7th of the season.
    • 80' Healy for Richardson. Ten Minutes to go - can the Northern Irishman make the difference.
    • 78' Sunderland step up efforts to get something for the game.
    • 75' Richardson stands over a free-kick. He'll blame the knock to his head for a truly dreadful effort. Woeful.
    • 73' Middlesbrough are doing a very good job of breaking up the play and frustrating Sunderland.
    • 72' Andy Reid looks to open the home defence up. It was his cross that saw a penalty claim against Adam Johnson turned down.
    • 69' Arca leads a five man break but his ball to Downing is too heavy and Ferdinand sweeps clear.
    • 67' In stark contrast to the first half. It's Sunderland taking the game to Boro, with the home side looking to break away.
    • 64' Double substitution. Bates for an injured Digard and Andy Reid for Diuof - who gets a standing ovation.
    • 60' Sunderland have consecutive corners. Cisse has a header blocked but they waste the other. A highlight in a half that has lacked quality or imagination from either side.
    • 57' Now it's Nosworthy in the book for a typically robust challenge.
    • 56' Richardson and Digard clash heads and it's another stoppage. They both leave the field for treatment. Richardson picks up a yellow for his troubles.
    • 55' With injuries and substitutions aplenty the early flow of the second half has been disrupted somewhat.
    • 53' Malbranque, having earlier taken a big hit from resident hard man Pogatetz, has to leave the field of play injured.
    • 50' Johnson sees his first action of the game, skipping past Chimbonda before firing straight at Fulop.
    • 47' Josh Walker is down and it looks like he is off. Adam Johnson replacing him.
    • 46' And the second half is underway. Alves' late first-half effort will hopefully open this game up.
    • 45 That's it, half time. A dour game has been lit up by a wonderful strike from a Brazilian who couldn't be further from home with weather like this. But on the balance of things 'Boro just about deserve it.
    • 45 There is just time for a Sunderland corner, but that comes to nothing.
    • 44' GOAL for Alves!!! A Downing led counter-attack culminates with the England winger laying in the Brazilian on the edge of the box and he thrashed it home. No chance for Fulop.
    • 43' Arca crosses for McMahon but his header loops over.
    • 41' Richardson whips in a free-kick that Jones gets a head to but Turnbull easily claims.
    • 38' Sunderland throw a couple of high balls into the 'Boro box and Jones hovers, but Pogatetz hooks away.
    • 35' Tuncay takes a heavy hit and the trainers are on. Sbragia takes the opportunity to have a mini-conference with his midfield quartet.
    • 34' It's getting a bit raucous following a Middlesbrough corner, boots, heads, tackles flying in all over the place.
    • 32' This time it's Digard from distance, but again it's wild.
    • 31' Arca exchanges passes with the thus far anonymous Alves before dragging his effort wide of Fulop's post
    • 27' Collins crosses for Jones, who arches his neck to reach it but can only head wide.
    • 25' Jones gets tantalisingly close to a Cisse cross. Sunderland are taking control of the game. Diouf orchestrating much of what is good from the visitors.
    • 22' Sunderland have a free-kick from 30-odd yards out. Richardson to deliver but Pogatetz clears for a corner.
    • 20' Sunderland, with pace to burn, look happy to remain a threat on the break.
    • 18' Middlesbrough are playing some very tidy football without particularly threatening their visitors goal - their only noteworthy efforts on goal have been from distance. And this time it is Tuncay with an effort from range that has Fulop scrambling but drifted wide.
    • 15' Cisse has Sunderland's first sight of goal but his effort is blocked.
    • 13' Arca's wild effort is high, wide and certainly not handsome. It's clear to see where 'Boro's troubles lie. They haven't scored in three games and with shooting like that it's little wonder.
    • 11' And Downing has the first effort on target of the afternoon. He struck it well but Fulop saw it all the way and collected at waist height. A want-away Downing could be - talking shot term - very beneficial for 'Boro, given the transfer window is a week and a bit old and he is in the proverbial shop window.
    • 8' The North-East faithful are enduring a laboured opening 10 minutes, but with the likes of Diouf, Cisse, Tuncay and Downing on the pitch the game will surely spark into live soon.
    • 5' After a frantic early start the game has fallen into a lull! With Turnbull and Fulop seeing much of the ball.
    • 4' Cisse is caught off-side and by some distance.
    • 2' The home-side take the early initiative but Sunderland stand up well to an early bombardment.
    • 1' Referee Phil Dowd gets the 128th Tees-Wear league derby underway with more than just pride at stake. A 'Boro win will se them leapfrog their visiting rivals, whilst a defeat could consign them to bottom of the table.
    • - Sunderland will look to compound a terrible run for Middlesbrough - which has seen Gareth Southgate's men go without a win for eight games and lose their last three - by securing their first top-flight double over 'Boro in 57 years.
    • - Today's teams are out: Middlesbrough; Turnbull, McMahon, Riggott, Wheater, Pogatetz, Sanli, Digard, Walker, Arca, Downing, Alves. Subs: Jones, Taylor, Mido, Emmes, Huth, Bates, Johnson. Sunderland: Fulop, Chumbonda, Nosworthy, Ferdinand, Collins, Malbranque, Whitehead, Richardson, Diouf, Cisse, Jones. Subs: Colgan, Taino, Edwards, Murphy, Yorke, Reid, Healy.
