  3. Promising but still need to turn possession into chances. won't get that much time as we did first half against teams who press more. Must be frustrating as a manager to see a home team so lethargic in the first half as WBA. You'd want to lob grenades at them. Saints three under 18s were excellent. COYR

  4. From Harmony Florida - Magic win away today at WBA - brilliant Saints - lifted the roof when we scored - once a Saint always one - in our hearts and soul here - COYRs. Look forward to seeing them at Norwich in a couple of weeks time.

  5. even after one game I fear for the baggies.most chamoionship sides have spent more than them in last two seasons. trying to run a prem. team on loans and free transfers will never work. don't want to see them bankrupt like Portsmouth and Coventry but what is happening to all the millions earned from the richest league in the world. never mind next season they will be the richest club in the championship.

  6. Great opening day performance away to a side we hadn't managed to beat for some time and who beat us twice last season. Still, this time they did not have Lukaku who is now warming the bench at Chelsea, or Odimwynge. We had the better of the first half with the Baggies looking a little out of sorts, but we failed to score when on top. Last season that cost us so often and when we came under more pressure in the second half, it began to look ominous. We held on thanks to impressive performances from Luke Shaw, Chambers and Ward - Prowse who are all still learning their trade. Wanyama and Lovren also did well, but it was Ricky Lambert who capped off the week of his life. In case Hodgson needs any further convincing after Wednesday, Ricky is even more deadly from the penalty spot. Traditionally we don't normally win our opening match in this league, especially away from home. Now we are under the pressure of being expected to beat Sunderland at St Mary's in midweek. Wether this win means that we will have a better season than the last one, remains to be seen. We have so far spent £21 million with the possibility of another striker arriving. Our future looks bright, but you can never stand still in this league. Baggies fans will probably feel aggrieved at the result, but you have to score when you are on top. We didn't do that, but we got the break and West Brom didn't; they will play worse than that and win this season. Both sides should stay up comfortably, but there is no room for complacency or over confidence in this league.
