    • - Madrid have their most important week of the season in the offing and what a way to start it – with a resounding 5-1 win over newly promoted Depor. Thanks for joining me.
    • 90+2 And that’s it from the Santiago Bernabéu – stay here for the reaction and match report.
    • 90' Ronaldo just can’t get to a Marcelo cross as he looks for a fourth.
    • 88' The hosts just playing out the half now as they limber up for an important week.
    • 86' Ronaldo gets in behind but his square pass for Benzema doesn’t reach its intended recipient and the chance has gone.
    • 84' GOOOOALL!! Ronaldo makes it four and in the process gets his hat-trick. Lierally off the post, so just about.
    • 82' Marcelo wins the ball in the left back position, finds Ronaldo who cuts inside and then reverses the ball for Kaka. But Laure intervenes for a corner. Poor delivery. Kaka collects in the corner and looks to cross – it hits Evaldo’s hand and the referee points to the spot.
    • 80' Credit to Depor they still look to take the game to their hosts but they look tired out there.
    • 78' Ramos, operating at right-back, makes good ground down that flank and looks to find Kaka at the near post but it is blocked for a corner. Pepe shoves a Depor player in the back and the chance has gone.
    • 76' A lightening quick break culminates with Ronaldo feeding Kaka whose well struck shot is saved by Aranzubia with Benzema at the back post looking for the square ball.
    • 74' A measure of Madrid’s supremacy read 19 shots to one for the hosts.
    • 72' There’s a lot more space out there now and Madrid are moving the ball around with great composure. Di Maria looks to lift the ball over the top to Benzema but the Frenchman had gone a fraction too soon.
    • 70' Domínguez is replaced by Camuñas for the visitors.
    • 68' This could be a battering if the visitors are not careful.
    • 66' GOOOAL!! Great delivery from Alonso. He whips a free-kick into the box from the left and it is a wonderful delivery for Pepe to head Madrid further into the lead.
    • 65' Marcelo leans on Laure as he looks to make a break into the box.
    • 64' Higuaín off for Benzema.
    • 62' Kaka works the ball well down the left, and waits patiently to tee up Marcelo for the cross but he gets under it horribly and the ball goes right out for a throw. Awful.
    • 60' Almost immediate impact for Alonso, Marcelo plays in Kaka, who, in turn tees up Alonso on the edge of the box. His effort is destined for the far corner but Aranzubia turns in around the post.
    • 58' Modric off for Alonso for the hosts.
    • 56' Nélson Oliveira is on for Riki for the visitors.
    • 54' Great work ethic from Di Maria who is back defending in the right-back spot and Sami Khedira leads a break but his intended ball for Higuaín is cut out.
    • 52' Marcelo cuts short a Depor break with a timely interception but his intended switch of play is cut out.
    • 51' Yellow for Modric for hand to ball.
    • 49' More strife down the Depor right. Modric nutmegs Laure and wins a free-kick in a dangerous area. Poor delivery.
    • - Laure for Manuel Pablo and Kaka for Ozil for the hosts.
    • 46' Back underway in Madrid.
    • 45+1 That’s it from the first half.
    • 45' A Ronaldo double there ensures that the hosts go to the break with a two goal advantage.
    • 44' GOOOAL!! Di Maria whips a ball into the box, it evades its intended target and Ramos takes in down at the back post and hits a well struck effort from a tight angle straight at Aranzubia, who makes a decent stop but pushes it straight up in the air. Ronaldo rises highest to head home a third. 3-1.
    • 43' Madrid keep the ball well as the game moves to half time. They have done well here having gone a goal down against the run of play.
    • 41' Depor move the ball around well in response to that goal but Pepe puts in one of those robust challenges to bring the move to an end. Riki on the receiving end.
    • 39' GGOAAAAALLL!! Modric slips a ball in behind Manuel Pablo for Di Maria who cuts in from the left to make the break into the box. Di Maria slips it under Aranzubia, who manages to get something on it and the ball kicks up on to the post but Di Maria is there to head home. 2-1.
    • 37' Higuaín breaks down the right and looks to feed Ronaldo in the middle. The forward looks certain to score but Zé Castro sticks out a boot to deflect it into the hands of Aranzubia.
    • 36' That’s about the fourth or fifth time Real Madrid have switched the play to the Depor right. Madrid win another corner. Easily cleared though.
    • 34' The corner is easily cleared and Ozil, in his haste to retrieve the ball, gives away a foul and picks up a yellow.
    • 32' Ronaldo latches onto a wonderful through ball from Khedira to bear down on Aranzubia but Manuel Pablo is there and does enough to put some pressure on the Portuguese. The former Manchester United man gets the shot away but Aranzubia pushes it over the bar.
    • 30' Modric leads a break down the left and the ball is worked back to Ozil who switches for Ramos but the defender just strayed offside.
    • 29' Khedira is doing a great job of mopping up in front of the back four. His front players need to be more incisive though as often the ball is coming right back.
    • 28' Marcelo drives forward but his effort from 30- yards is blocked.
    • 27' The right side of the Depor defence is been given the run around by Di María and Marcelo. They exchange passes to free the Argentine but the final ball is poor.
    • 26' Di Maria is giving Manuel Pablo a torrid evening. This time receiving the ball from Ozil before slipping the ball through the legs of the defender. He overruns it though and the move runs out of steam.
    • 25' Depor dropping deeper and deeper. They are inviting pressure.
    • 24' Looks like only one winner from here.
    • 23' GOOOAL!! No chance. Ronaldo waits for Aranzubia to go down before rolling it into the other corner. 1-1.
    • 22' Di Maria receives a switch of play and runs at Manuel Pablo - the defender scythes down the winger just on the edge of the box. The referee points to the spot. Manuel Pablo was too square on and paid the price for it.
    • 22' Casillas has played nine games this season and only kept two clean sheets.
    • 21' Higuaín is behind this time but when he tries to lift the ball over Manuel Pablo there is too much on it and the chance has gone.
    • 20' That was literally the first attack from the hosts. Incredible.
    • 19' Ronaldo almost gets free but a visiting leg stretches out to deny him.
    • 18' Almost magical from Di María. He beats the offside trap to latch onto a slide rule pass from Ozil but he lifts it over the bar from the tightest of angles.
    • 16' GOOOOAL!! Riki leads a rare foray forward for the visitors and he exchanges some neat passes with Bruno Gama on the edge of the box before skipping through some rather soft challenges – particularly from Varane – before stretching and getting to the ball before Casillas. 0-1.
    • 14' Marcelo does well twice to win the ball in midfield, he finds Di María, who disguises a ball to Ronaldo on the edge of the box. He shapes to shoot but under pressure he skews it wide.
    • 13' Depor struggling to hold onto the ball at the moment and the pressure is building.
    • 12' Depor get their line right as Ozil looks to lift the ball to Higuaín.
    • 11' Khedira wins the ball in midfield and slides the ball through to Ronaldo. The ball is slightly behind him and he can’t generate enough power from just inside the box. Easy stop.
    • 10' Pepe rises well to head clear and the second ball is lobbed over the top for Di María but Aranzubia is out to clear.
    • 6' Higuaín leads a break down the right and looks to centre for Ronaldo. Manuel Pablo clears.
    • 6' Modric wins a header in the middle of midfield as the hosts put lots of pressure on Depor ball.
    • 5' Depor are allowing the hosts to play the ball around in front of them and Manuel Pablo does well to track the run of Marcelo. But he then hauls back Khedira. Madrid work the ball to Di Maria, whose shot is always rising from 30-odd yards.
    • 3' A little bit of a lacklustre start though as the changes that Jose Mourinho has made with a view to their telling week ahead bed in.
    • 2' Depor are quite an open attacking unit and Madrid are the masters of the counter-attack, so this one should be full of goals.
    • 1' Right, after a presentation of an Olympian to the Bernabéu crowd and a tribute to a young Real Madrid player that passed away, the visitors get us underway.
    • 18:45 So cumbersome has Madrid’s start to the season been, they are only one point ahead of newly promoted Depor heading into this fixture. Los Turcos’ performance of the season thus far has probably been the comeback against Valencia in match-day two but they have since drawn against Getafe and Granada before losing 2-0 against Sevilla to sit in tenth.
    • 18:40 However, having followed up their Champions League comeback win against Manchester City with a win over Rayo Vallecano on Monday, the green shoots of recovery are evident as they embark on an important week that includes a midweek trip to Ajax and El Clasico next Sunday. And the omens are not good for Depor, who in the last six meetings between the two at the Bernabeu are yet to taste victory while shipping 20 goals.
    • 18:35 With Barca’s last gasp win against Sevilla last night, Madrid are 11 points behind the pacesetters from Catalonia after a poor start to the season, which has included defeats to Getafe and Sevilla. Villa strikes as Barca sink 10-man Sevilla
    • 18:30 For Madrid, Kaka fails to make the starting eleven despite netting a hat-trick against Millonarios in the Santiago Bernabeu trophy on Wednesday; while Fabio Coentrao doesn't even make the bench having completed his four-match ban. For the visitors, Riki starts despite being hampered by a nasal fracture. Aythami is only fit enough for the bench having suffered an injury scare in training.
