    • 90' Thanks for joining us tonight for what has been a hugely entertaining game, join us tomorrow for more action from the Women's World Cup in Germany.
    • 90+3 The final whistle is blown and Germany win the game and win Group A. They were easily the better team here and will face Japan in the quarter-final, France will move on to play England.
    • 90+2 Popp gets a shot off as Germany work it well across the edge of the French box, but it's well over the bar
    • 90+1 Germany deal with this corner more effectively and Angerer holds the ball
    • 90' Abily shows the desperation of the French as she takes a shot from forty yards, it was a good one though and Angerer is forced to tip it over
    • 89' Germany still pressing as Grings swings in another corner but Hingst can't keep it in at the far post
    • 88' GOAL FOR GERMANY!!! That is it, as Grings cleverly flicks on a cross from the left to find Mbabi free on the right side of the box, one touch to control and then a rifled finish back across Deville saw Germany restore their two goal advantage, quality goal.
    • 87' France still plugging away, Boulleau getting a cross in, but the German's are swatting their attacks away with relative ease.
    • 86' Thiney breaks at great pace from the corner, but Delie's movement ahead of her was terrible and Thiney ran out of options and then gave the ball away
    • 85' Popp wins a corner for Germany which is dealt with by Soubeyrand at the near post
    • 84' France looking tired now and Germany look much more likely to get a fourth than the French do of equalising
    • 83' Popp gets a cross in from the right but it was too close to Deville who claims it comfortably
    • 81' Bajmaraj catches Renard slightly late, it wasn't malicious though and it just seems to be the number of rolls the fouled player does that determines whether a player is booked or not
    • 80' France still struggling to create anything at all from open play, their best hope is getting another corner
    • 79' Germany have taken the momentum out of the French team well after their second goal by keeping possession well
    • 78' Alex Popp comes on for Annike Krahn
    • 76' Deville struggling as she flaps at a cross and then Bajmaraj's effort has to be cleared off the line by Abily, Goessling tries a shot from the resulting clearance from twenty yards which clips the bar and goes behind.
    • 75' Grings, looking for her hat-trick, curls the free-kick into the side-netting, good effort.
    • 74' Georges is penalised for a push on Mbabi just outside the French penalty area
    • 73' Great chance to equalise as Soubeyrand slides in Delie perfectly and Delie was in on goal, but she dragged her shot badly and it ended well wide of the far post
    • 72' GOAL FOR FRANCE!!! Corner from Soubeyrand lands right on the head of Georges on the edge of the six-yard box and a bullet header gave Angerer no chance, game on again
    • 71' Bajmaraj brings down Lepailleur on the right flank and the free-kick is deflected behind for a corner
    • 70' France can really do without any injuries or more mistakes now as they have used all their substitutions
    • 69' Just as France looked to be coming back into the game they are two goals down and a player down, it is surely game ovr now.
    • 68' GOAL FOR GERMANY!!! Grings puts the kick into the right corner sending Deville the wrong way, confident penalty.
    • 65' Sapowicz will now miss the quarter-final, and Deville comes on to replace Le Sommer and will face the penalty first thing
    • 64' Red card for Sapowicz as she brings down Bajmaraj who was through on goal. Grings slid in Bajmaraj and the keeper flew out at her and undoubtedly took her out on the edge of the six-yard box. Penalty to Germany.
    • 63' The resulting kick is well held by Angerer in her six-yard box
    • 62' Lovely footwork from Thiney is unceromoniously ended by Mbami and the French win a free-kick
    • 61' Bajmaraj breaks at pace through the middle and has an effort from a long way out, but it's tame very straight-forward for Sapowicz
    • 60' Grings hits the free-kick well, keeping it low and Sapowicz makes a smart save down to her right
    • 59' Renard makes a great sliding challenge on Grings on the edge of her own area, is penalised and booked. The referee was no more than five yards away and it's incredible she can see that as a foul at all, never mind a booking, useless.
    • 58' Germany have woken up since the goal and Goessling gets a shot in from twenty-five yards, it's well struck but straight at Sapowicz.
    • 57' GOAL FOR FRANCE!!! Soubeyrand swings in a brilliant cross into the edge of the six-yard box which is wonderfully met by Delie who diverts it into the corner of the net, perfect goal from a corner-kick
    • 56' Delie is working hard to chase things down and wins a corner for her team
    • 55' Delie tries a volley from the edge of the box but she's off balance when she hits it and can't get the power behind it
    • 54' Again France resort to a long ball from the back and Delie won't even bother to chase that one
    • 53' Garefrekes plays in Grings down the right who puts in a good cross put Sapowicz is out well to catch it
    • 52' Schmidt saves a corner but concedes a throw-in deep in her own half, the throw is easily cleared though
    • 51' Thiney with an encouraging run, getting to the byeline but is eventually dispossessed by Peter
    • 50' Delie being offered the same long ball treatment as Thomis was and she is having equally little joy with it
    • 49' Abily and Peter with a touch of handbags after a strong challenge from the Frenchwoman but it's quickly forgotten
    • 47' Delie has also replaced Thomis for France
    • 46' It's Laudehr and Bartusiak who have gone off for Germany
    • 46' France get the second-half started
    • 46' Changes at half-time for both teams as Faisst and Hingst come on for Germnay and Abily replaces Necib for France
    • 45+1 The half-time whistle is blown and Germany will be delighted with their first-half performance and the scoreline which, currently, will put them top of Group A.
    • 45' Just one minute of added time will be played
    • 44' Specualtive effort from Laudehr from all of forty yards out as she thought Sapowicz was off her line, comfortable for the keeper though
    • 43' The French don't look comfortable in possession at all and can't string any kind of chain of passes together
    • 42' The resulting free-kick from the left wing is easily dealt with at the front post
    • 41' Georges now gets a yellow card for a fantastic challenge on Mbabi, unbelieveable refereeing there and it seems Mbabi got her that booking for her reaction, it wasn't even a foul.
    • 40' Bad challenge from Bussaglia on Krahn on the half-way line warrants a booking
    • 39' Germany extremely comfortable at the moment as they keep possession and when France do get on the ball they are short of ideas and quickly surrender it
    • 37' Garefrekes wins a corner on the right for Germany which Grings centres and Georges does well to clear at the second attempt
    • 36' Again it's Thomis scampering after a through ball that is the only excitement for the French fans but Angerer is out well to claim it
    • 35' Thomis and Necib look to link-up on the right flank and it is these two that need to get into the game if France have any chance of getting back into this, Germany are dealing them comfortably now though
    • 34' France respond well and win a corner which Soubeyrand takes but again it's comfortably cleared by the Germans
    • 33' GOAL FOR GERMANY!!! The break results in a goal through Inka Grings. Laudehr managed to get down into the left corner and put in a pin-point cross onto the head of Grings who had stole into the box and was unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box and headed past Sapowicz high into the net.
    • 32' Schmidt heads the resulting delivery away and Germany break with Laudehr
    • 31' France win a free-kick of their own in the German half which Soubeyrand floats in and Angerer punches behind for a corner
    • 30' This time Sapowicz ends up with the ball in her hands and punts it clear
    • 29' Lepailleur gives away a free-kick allowing Peter to deliver from deep again
    • 28' Germany have calmed their nerves now and could go on to dominate this game, they are maintaing possession comfortably now
    • 26' GOAL FOR GERMANY!!! From the resulting free-kick Peter picks out the run from Garefrekes at the back post who evades her marker and powers a header past Sapowicz
    • 25' Necib tried to make up for it by going in strongly on Mbabi but gives away a free-kick
    • 24' Necib's technique lets her down for once as she mis-controls a throw-in and then plays the ball straight out
    • 22' Neither goalkeeper has been seriously tested as yet as much of the battle is going on in the middle of the park
    • 21' Okoyino Da Mbabi shows some persistance down the right but Boulleau defends well and wins the goal-kick
    • 20' France coming back into the game after Germany enjoyed early dominance and they are getting on the ball much more now
    • 19' Peter forced right back by the pressing of the French but they ease off as it is played back to Angerer
    • 18' The free-kick is too deep and it runs out for a goal-kick
    • 17' Soubeyrand goes down clutching her face and Goessling receives a yellow card for a flailing arm, it wasn't intentional or high though and it seems harsh
    • 16' Laudehr called offside from a clever reverse pass from Garefrekes but definitely appeared to be onside
    • 15' Bajmaraj breaks at pace down the right -flank but her cross is far too close to Sapowicz who holds well
    • 14' France gaining a territorial advantage for the first time in the match as they press down the right, but they can't produce a cross and the ball is eventually cleared.
    • 13' Goessling produces a fabulous ball over the top to find Garefrekes unmarked in the area, but she was flagged offside and France breath a sigh of relief
    • 12' Garefrekes again breaks down the right but this time her cross is diverted behind for a corner
    • 11' Garefrekes gets in a dangerous cross from the right but it's well defended by Georges
    • 9' Bajmaraj tries to chip a ball in to Grings but just over-hits it
    • 8' Germany dominating the early possession, but France are keeping them at bay well and are restricted to the half-way line
    • 7' France undoubtedly have the speed advantage all over the pitch, especially with Thomis in attack
    • 6' It looks like it is going to be a very open game and certainly no dead rubber as both teams are playing at a high tempo and looking to attack.
    • 5' Thomis does well to get on to a long ball and cuts it back to Le Sommer, but she is quickly crowded out.
    • 4' It's a very poor delivery and Laudehr can't keep it in at the back post
    • 3' Wayward clearance from Renard as Germany try to pick out Bajmaraj and they win a corner
    • 2' Soubeyrand looks to set the pacey Thomis off early on and they clearly expect a lot of her speed-wise, but Angerer is out quickly to claim the ball.
    • 1' Germany get the game underway.
    • 19.44 The officials for tonight's game are all from Finland, Kirsi Heikkinen taking charge
    • 19.42 Germany go into the match with the better head-to-head record having won seven and lost only two of the nine previous meetings, France are ahead of them in Group A of this world cup though.
    • 19.40 Four changes for France as Renard, Boulleau, Le Sommer and Thomis replace Bompastor, Viguier, Delie and Abily.
    • 19.38 Almuth Schmidt, Inka Grings, Fatmire Bajmaraj and Goessling come in for Germany in place of Behringer, Prinz, Bresonik and Kulig. The big news, clearly, being that legendary forward Birgit Prinz is missing from the starting line-up.
    • 19.34 Germany: Angerer, Schmidt, Bartusiak, Peter, Krahn, Laudehr, Grings, Okoyino Da Mbabi, Garefrekes, Bajmaraj, Goessling
    • 19.32 Team News: France: Sapowicz, Renard, Bouilleau, Georges, Soubeyrand, Le Sommer, Le Pauilleur, Thomis, Necib, Bussaglia, Thiney
    • 19.30 Both teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals but there is plenty to play for in Mönchengladbach as a point or better for France would see them face Japan, whereas a defeat would mean they would play England in the next round.
    • 19.25 Good evening and welcome to our coverage of the Group A contest between France and Germany at the Women's World Cup.
