Top-ranked Scottie Scheffler, already off to a historic golf season start, took his first true look Monday at Pinehurst, where he's an overwhelming favorite to win the US Open.Scheffler has been first or second in seven of his past eight starts and in the top-10 in 12 of 13 events this year.
The 30-year-old has yet to make a cut in a major this year despite an impressive start which saw him win at Pebble Beach in February.
Defending US Open champion Wyndham Clark is frustrated because he has not played consistently in recent weeks and he's not even sure why practice success isn't replicated in competition."It's frustrating for me that I'm not as consistent right now.
