    OLYMPICS CRAP

Lets spend 5 billion and build a sporting complex to see who can run the fastest. What a waste. Let's NOT spend any money on the elderly who are sick, hungry and lonely who fought for this country. Athletes are heroes and people who gave their lives for this country are just OLD PEOPLE.

    • Too right. The Olymprics will be still be being paid for by our grandchildren's grandchildren. Just yesterday I read that they have removed all the speed bumps on a road in Greenwich so that olympric officials don't have a bumpy ride!!! Will the plod be checking their speeding? What do you think!! I tried to book a restaurant in central London, but it's closed on Mondays due to 'olympric maintenance'. The opening ceremony sounds like it's worth watching though, sounds like the biggest laugh we'll all have this year! I'd like to poke the olymprics right up lord coe's five rings!!!

    • To satify all those who like to run and get breathless I consider it worth while to replace the Olympic Stadium with a giant ferris wheel. They could all climb aboard and run, turning the wheel and generating lots of electricty. In any case the Olympics is not sport but nearly all games. Sport is hunting, fishing, shooting and all things derived from the need to eat and survive. Football is simply a Game which satisfies the human desire to compete. Each element of the Olympics is a disciplin or event but certainly not Sport.

    • How much money is Lord Coe and his friends going to make from the Olympics

    • Well said, complete waste of time and money and as a Londoner it's causing more bad feeling than good. Who voted for this? No-one.

    • The whole thing is a rip off, once again the top 10% make a fortune and/or get mbe's etc, drug cheats or merceneries running for any country that will have them just to make money, corporates running everything, all the assets which we have paid for will end up with large companies who will make fortunes from them, there was a much cheaper and better way to develop the east end of london, from the start "it will create thousands of jobs in the construction industry" yeah right 70% taken up by cheap foreign labour so the companies maximised profits, the tickets fiasco, to con the world that we wanted the games most yes most people ended up with tickets for rubbish events that they would'nt watch in a million years, the whole thing is a another giant rip off by the ruling 10% of the nation, to stroke their egos and increase their vast wealth, i hope it pi**es down with rain all day every day its on, please transport industry go on strike for the whole games, please all you car drivers who are paying for the bus lanes block them to stop the worlds top 10% which includes mass murderers, war mongers, despots, dictators etc using them, heres to a great summer 2013 NO BLOODY OLYMPICS !!!!!

    • Have a simplified games but don't spend the amount of money that seems to be being thrown around!! This country urgently needs money for it's own - the elderly, the disabled, the young and others!! How will the Olympics help my disabled daughter or my elderly father whom I care for. Money put into services would be better than spending money on this rubbish. Not everyone is interested in the Olympics - I for one will be too busy doing what I do every day of the week - being a full time carer which by the way works out at about 32 pence per hour on the benefit we get if anyone is interested!! Fancy a job anyone??

    • Could not agree more. Should be rated 6 Stars

    • What concerns me more is the number of foreign competitors and their entourages who will fail to return to their homeland afterwards.Preferring to stay on in this land of free housing, positive discrimination and benefits. After the 'International Scouts' Jamboree' in 2007,I am given to understand that the "authorities" are still looking(or not) for some of the participants.

    • with any luck a Tsunami will wash its way up the Thames and the Olympics will be cancelled and we can all go about our daily lives without having to listen to all of this hype about a once in a life time event.
