Manchester United Message Board
Everyone goes on about wanting Mascherano, Torres, Gattuso, Senna and/or Tevez to join UTD, but would any of you have mentioned their names had you not read that Man Utd were linked with them? Ok, some of you may have seen them play well in the World Cup but I suspect the majority are copying paper talk.
How about we think outside the small box and name players that aren't any of the above.
I would have plumped for one or two German players in midfield/attack after seeing how well the German's played - both individually and as a team. Germans are solid and reliable - like their cars - and I believe their players would fit in to the Premiership quickly.
I thought Klos was someone who would be uncomplicated up-front and I think that would be ideal - someone like Shearer.
etc etc etc

I don't think the majority are copying paper talk
They are discussing who might be available
You may as well ask who are the best players in the world that united don't have any chance of signing
Unfortunately Germans, like some (not all) of their cars they're not always the most exciting. Eg Hamman, i think he's a very under-rated player who is a good all-rounder, better performance than you'd expect but never really catches the eye. A bit like a Golf Turbo Diesel!
I was impressed with Lahm (although we don't need a left back) however my preferred signings for United based on the performances I've seen would've been Hargreaves, Lennon, Darren Bent and possibly the Portugese 'keeper.
Klose has impressed at the last 2 world cups, and looks a very good striker.
Nigel Reo-Coker of the Hammers. Rough around the edges admittedly but he's exactly what we need in centre midfield. Tackles all day long, aggressive, a leader( captained Wimbledon whilst still a teenager) and he's english. His passing is a bit off at times but we have enough ball playing midfielders already anyway.
I've been singing his praises for a good while and thought he had a more than decent cup final. Reminds me of a young Incey.

Good to see people keeping an open mind! I've not seen much of Reo-Coker to be able to comment. What I will say is that to be really successful in Europe, teams have to be able to hold on to the ball and pass it well and think all players should be good passers (except maybe central defender).
I know the ball needs winning but there are plenty of tought tacklers who can also pass.
If Reo-Coker's passing skills can be developed then he's worth a look - going on your praises!

Yes that is controversial but I would too - two reasons - we would have a proven midfielder who is used to winning and Scummerpool wouldn't have him to get them out of jail.
Though he has suffered from injury quite frequently so that would be my worry, apart from being a scouser!
