Manchester United Message Board
Since Rio has come out and shown his true feelings towards the gay community on radio 1, does this homophobic attack make him a complete cunt like any other person that would say such stuff (maybe even worse for the arena he said it in, and his influence on the young), or can you forgive for saying those things on air for millions of people to hear???
in fact do you not agree that the radio airing of such views is the worst possible sort of advertisement for the player and indeed manchester united for employing such a person?
perhaps a few days of volunteer work in an aids hospice may see this bigoted person see the light? perhaps you could start a campaign on behalf of all right minded, liberal united fans to put pressure for him to do this?
Why have so many people got an anal fixation with ian??
If you dont like what he says argue with him, disagree with him, whatever. But these personal threads 'just for him' are verging on the level of the idiot fake id spammers and they bore us.
Why dont you put your question to the whole board and send ian a private email saying how much you love him and want his babies, after you have asked him to marry you of course.
With Scholes getting caught calling a player a 'poofter' and now this, it hardly helps the club's image. I think the AIDS hospice thing is a stupid idea, though, especially as heterosexual AIDS cases are spreading faster than homosexual ones for the last few years. I think a proper apology from him and Scholes would be more appropriate.
Just because Rio 'said what blokes down the pub would say' isn't an excuse. There are plenty of 'blokes down the pub' that use terms like 'paki' and 'nigger', but that wouldn't excuse them saying it on the radio.
The gay community for years has been dis-associating itself with the connection of being gay and having AIDS. I cant see the relevance either.
If Moyles wants to ask faggot questions then he should expect faggot answers.

What was said: Chris Moyles to Rio Ferdinand - "If you had to, who would you rather go out with - Smudger or Scholesy?"
"That is not my bag that, that is not my game, talking about going out with geezers," replied Ferdinand.
When Moyles jokingly suggested he would prefer Smith, Ferdinand told him: "You're a faggot."
A Radio 1 spokeswoman said it had received two complaints about the exchange. As others in the studio expressed shock, the England defender said: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm not homophobic."
From the the way this thread was started I thought Rio had said he hated gay people and thought they should be shot. All he did was call Moyles a fag for saying he'd go out with Smith rather than Scholes. Ok maybe a little bit politically incorrect, what isn't these days though. The thing is most guys would say exactly the same thing down the pub with their mates.
