    Pique for Gudjohnson

Reports suggest that Gerard Pique may be used as a bait to lure Gudjohnson to Old Trafford. Pique may even me swapped for the Barcelona forward.

As much as I admire the Catalan forward, I for one would rather keep Pique, who was on loan at Real Zaragoza.
Pique is the ideal long term replacement for Rio, and would create a great defensive relationship with Vidic.

    Anyone agree?

    • As most of yourselves may have already read the news that Gudjohnson is very keen on the move, and has come out expressing his desire to move back to England with Manchester United being a club he would love to play for.

He is begging to be bought, with his 'come and get me' hint to Mr Ferguson.
If the price is right, then he should be bought. He is only 29 and has a few years ahead of him. It would be a great buy, as he has alot of experience playing in the top flight and Champions league.

    • indeed ... PHEEEEWWWWWWWW !!!!!!
      Thank fook for that
      Poei poeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

    • No Old Trafford interest in Eidur
      Fri 15 Jun, 04:45 PM

Eidur Gudjohnsen's father and agent insists he has had no contact with Manchester United regarding a move to Old Trafford. The former Chelsea forward has endured mixed success at Barcelona this season, making only sporadic appearances and operating largely as a reserve to Samuel Eto'o.

United are apparently keen to recruit a new striker this summer with Louis Saha's ongoing injury troubles and Alan Smith's future undecided.

The English champions have been strongly linked with the Iceland international but his father, Arnor, insists Barca will not make a decision on his future until after this weekend's La Liga climax.

He said: "Honestly, I have not heard anything from Manchester United. I can confirm that.

"It's only speculation. I think the club will decide many things after the weekend and what is going to happen after the game (against Gimnastic).

"Then, maybe you might see a clearer picture of what's going to happen. But at this stage, nothing."

Asked whether his son would be willing to stay in Barcelona, Gudjohnsen said: "Probably. He's very happy there.

"He hasn't played so much after Christmas, but he came in before Christmas when Eto'o was injured and did quite well.

"So he actually wants to have another chance next season to prove himself even more."

The forward has been ruled out of Barca's final game in Tarragona, when they must better Real Madrid's result to have any hope of retaining the title they have won in the last two years.

Barca announced on Friday that tests revealed Gudjohnsen has inflamed cartilage in his right knee, keeping him out for around a week.

      Phew!...Thank god for small mercies.

    • no probs but sauce may give you the trots and you will need a bung to stop it eh!

    • Ok. No salad, hot sauce

    • Am so glad you share that view,Mickey has been vulnerable at the back for some time he deserve to play for other teams now,Gabby has not been so convincing this year, those are the two l can wish to not have at the moment.Barca realise their mistakes when they did let the boy go and we are about to do the same.Rossi,Pique for me deserve to play for United at all cost, these boys has the ability, damn anyone who thinks otherwise.

    • gudjonnson?a good player but he is not a cold blooded striker like RVN,ETO ect. he is a second striker, we already have rooney and anderson, we need someone that can get 20 goals. If gidjohmson would be a grat sighning we might as well get bent, cheap and score goals or anelka cheap and still hass that bit of quality up front..

    • ta wazza agreed 100% on that 1. heck why not sell silvestre, west brown, richardson and heinze. the money for those players will be enough to pay for the italian dude and maybe sign saviola for free from barca as well. give evans and pique some chance to play some 1st class football for us.

    • I am a Man Utd Supporter and if that speculation it would deem my excitement since the transfers started.I rate the exchange as the dumpest idea my beloved bosses would have done.Exchanging the best and our future is nothing more than criminal, hope l pray Gud stays at his Barca and rather have this Italian they are all talking about from Sampdoria, why he is young and decently prized.

    • forever bolton lol.

i do hope its only speculation as i prefer to give west brown or silvestre or heinze for gudjohnson but not a player whos highly credited by barcelona. why give the player back to them for a lesser player.
