there's just no need to crack jokes at city anymore, they do all the work themselves.

    • Brilliant story if true!

The sad part is they are making a mockery of Sparky, who was building a good reputation in the managerial world before he joined these perennial losers.

    • Well, they have Garry Cook (ex-Nike) as their Chief Executive, and the man clearly knows bugger all about football. He claims he is going to make City the biggest club in India (erm, don't the vast majority still prefer cricket?) and China, and when asked if City can win the EPL and the CL in the near future, he said that when he was at Nike they didn't talk about whether something can happen, but that it "will happen". Where's his straightjacket, the delusional oaf? He also managed to insult his own club captain, by saying "Richard Dunne isn't the sort of name they want in Beijing". Very diplomatic.

One interesting thing about City is that they haven't offered the young Daniel Sturridge a new contract, and he, otherwise, will be available on a free in the summer. He looks pretty promising. Worth picking up for nowt, I reckon.

      • Re: Sturridge
I was about to ask about City's academy, cos the last time I checked Joe Corrigan was the last City youth product to play for his country. But this Sturridge lad has been with them since age 13 it sez, and he's looked like the best thing they have that isnt a moaning mercenary.
Still, "we dont want anything local at this club, we've changed, we are now the biggest club in history. How much does history cost by the way ?"

      • I'll second that notion John. Sturridge does look like a good young player, one that has already made an impression in the league. City will be stupid if they let the lad go. If he does end up available for nothing, I wouldn't complain if we snapped him up, especially if we do let Carlos Tevez leave. You could argue we wouldn't need him, but I think another good young british player at the club can only be a good thing. He'd be more likely to make the grade than Frazier Campbell in my opinion.

      • I still remember United passing on the offer for De Jong when the fee was set at 1million pounds...If Fergie doesn't rate him at a million pounds certainly he won't be much better than the players City already have on offer. Kompany looks like a bargain now.

    • That might be funny if they still get relegated. City state that they knew all about it but somehow I don't believe it. It is after all small change to the Sheikh if De Jong sorts their midfield problems out. Did they even bid for Palacios?
