  • We're going to pass a health care plan: written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's nearly broke. What could possibly go wrong ?

    • Well actually Mick, I've probably spoke to more democrats to be honest, this info was brought to my attention by a democrat as it happens!

Im not sure about 'quote surfing', I thought I pointed out some basic facts, I have more on the health care plan if you want?

I know what you mean, a lot of Republicans are p*ssed (I spoke to one or two who had a hard time hiding their obvious disdain for a black man being in charge!), but its the same with both sides, thats the problem, everyone picks a side and refuses to listen to reason regarding anything that opposes their 'agenda'.

You'll know what I mean when I use fundamentalist religious types as an example!

Do you know how many people said to me they were glad he was in charge because 'he was black', because 'hes better than bush' and because 'he spoke eloquently'?! I got that ignorant bullsh*t a LOT!

I have no agenda here, I wouldn't take either side (if that even exists), Im just noticing a lot of things, and Im finding Obama supporters seem to aggressively dismiss anything that goes against what he is 'dictating'. It was the same when Bush was first in office! Both sides are as bad as each other, both twist the facts for their own purposes.

I hoped Obama would get in originally, it would be great if he was the real deal, we'll see I guess....

    • What could possibly go wrong ? Well you could have someone like George W Bush as president. I didn't like the way right-wingers tried to slag off the British health service though.

      • Thing is, if the American people dont want Obama-care, then they shouldn't be FORCED to have it. The government works FOR the people, not the other way around like it now is in the States.

Its supposed to be a constitutional republic!

Obama is no better than Bush unfortunately (I fell for it in the beginning), he's completely hopeless. Most people cant see that yet, they dont want to, they're still clinging to their black messiah and the laughable promise of 'change', but they will, and I will be here come that time, count on it!
