Manchester United Message Board
I am very happy that Project Legend is coming down hard on the manc hooligans PRIOR to your visit to civilised north london. Please leave small change in tra la tra la lancashire.
Hopefully, you play the game the beautiful way we don't want to see a fifth red card.
Wishing you a peaceful trip to your capital city, all the way from manchester.
Wow, what a ridiculous thread.
Of course the more successful your club is on the field, the more supporters you will get from afar. How is this a bad thing? It's clearly something positive.
Every successful club has more non-serious fans that have never visited the club before.
It's not just down to "plastics", but also just increased awareness of the club.
Anyone who thinks their clubs always has better support than another club is an idiot. The dynamics of a club's fanbase changes year-on-year based on results.
It goes to show that you can pick out quite a few jobsworths anywhere in the world, and make them look stupid.
Every country has them, but is much funnier when you see it happening to the other guy.
That program looks simlar to 'balls of steel'. Top program.
John, that was a clip from an Australian series called The Chasers War on Everything.
Have a look at this one, it was taken at the APEC meeting in Sydney the other year, where the lads dressed someone up as Osama bin Laden, put him in a dummy motorcade, and breezed through the toughest security ever seen in Australia.
You think it's bad that some Utd supporters can't find Manchester on a map?
How about the fact that many Amercians can't even identify whole countries!
Oh, I see - you think because I live further away from Stamford Bridge than about five miles, this makes me not local and therefore a hypocrite.
Perhaps you should look for where I have said that only local people have the right to support a football club. You'll look in vain, either in this thread or in my entire posting history.
As far as I am concerned people can support whoever they like. I think it is preferrable to stick with one club rather than blowing with the wind, but support who you like. And if you don't support my team, that's good, because it makes it easier for me to get tickets.
There is a widespread perception that many people support United because they are "glory-hunters". I don't care, one way or another. Some United fans get very touchy about this and it can be amusing to wind them up. Which is what John was doing above, and what I was doing above. I was alluding to the quiz result published in some paper (in Liverpool, I think) which came up with the result that most United fans couldn't find Manchester on the map. This was not a serious bit of research and even if it was, wouldn't make any difference anyway. But you should admit it is funny in the context.
So I think you should be slower to jump to conclusions.
Now, feel free to point out where I have contradicted myself if you want to carry on with the hypocrite suggestion.
I have no need Robert, as soon as people with an IQ over 90 read your asinine comments here, and your admission to not being a local rent boy, they will see your hypocrisy for itself.
Now why not go sulk somewhere else Wobert, like the Chelski board...oh wait, there's NO CHELSKI FANS THERE!!!! Hahahaha!!!
