Rooney: 'Utd's lack of ambition behind move'

    • Maybe I am, Ian. But I feel, if ran properly, you can still win trophies, AND add to your squad w/o having as much as a speed bump. Listen, I'm from the States, and I never understood the hatred the Glazers got, just because they are American. But the way things are going, the players play, the manager manages, and the board puts out the money to the players where they feel will continue success with the club. Players like Chicarito, Smalling, Bebe, etc. will not win trophies now. Those players, if developed properly, will help with success down the road. Guys like Silva, Benzema, Van derVaart, Sneijder, etc. would help win now. The Glazers are trying to find diamonds in the rough with every player. You do that with one or two. Sorry, United isn't heading in the right direction in my opinion, and I'm pissed. If that means I'm spoiled, then I am.

    • You seem spoiled enough muta, judging by some of your posts.

    • ONE day after my ground-breaking thread, Rooney has now confirmed his reasons ("MAN U'S LACK OF AMBITION AND VERY AVERAGE PLAYERS IN THE CURRENT SQUAD") for wanting to leave the SINKING SHIP.

yous.b.tangoed........ MILES AHEAD OF THE GAME.

    • Fergie lacks credibility when money is involved - he will say whatever his employers need him to say publicly. Also Judas Gill praises the Glazers after having said prior to the takeover: "Debt is the road to ruin" - so make of that what you will if you want to talk about bullshitters.

I knew Rooney was keen on a move last season and I did mention it along with the fact that United wouldn't be able to meet his pay demands..Look for the post and you will find it. You spend your entire life on here, so it should occupy you for a while, whereas i'm off out now.

    • I pointed out around a year ago on here that Rooney was seriously reconsidering his future and his pledge to stay at United, and that it had come from a good source (associates of Rooney) that he was seriously thinking of a move to Spain.

I also pointed out that United would not be able to meet his wage demands and it was very possible that he would leave (the person who posts as Eric Cantona should remember this, as he asked at the time if I really thought Rooney would leave over money). You can find the relevant post if you search for it - it's there, I can assure you. I don't delete post like you do - you know, the ones where you said that the Glazers were good owners and that the way they bought the club was perfectly acceptable.

    • Obviously meant 'from' before Harijan picks up on it again.

    • Harijan Butch, why don't you post your OWN opinion rather than criticising other people's opinion?

Please forgive me if I'm wrong, I've searched through the posts and can't seen to find any 'original' input /opinion put forward by you Harijan. All I see form you is nitpicking through other people's posts and slating them for their VALIDLY held opinion. That to me, is bullshitting mate!

    • "I said Rooney would leave around a year ago"

Bullshit, a year ago he hadn't thought of leaving, this came about after the WC, and you knew fuck all about it.

    • Normally I would have dismissed this rumour as total nonsense, but it comes from somebody who has been pretty reliable in the past - that Fergie sees Torres as the Rooney replacement in his strike force. It probably won't happen, but it appears to be on Fergie's wish list. Torres would probably be happy enough with £120K wages or something similar, and Liverpool did turn down Chelsea's offer of £40M in the summer, but if United can get £50-60M on Rooney, then it becomes possible.

    • Of course United are not playing well at the moment, which is kind of understandable. Actually , now Rooney's situation is out in the open, I think things will get better. Everyone knows where they stand. Rooney, I hope, will never play for United again, and the players can start to consentrate on winning the Premiership, and champions league. Rooney will be sold in January, and , unusually Sir Alex will buy a midfielder.
