didn`t even need to get out of 5th gear let alone 3rd. Only problem is it took all the urgency out of the game. Positive notes - utd still haven`t conceded in the CL, Rafael and Smalling were excellent at the back, Evra looked more his old self, midfield was solid, great goal from Nani, very good cameo from Obertan and that`s 19 games unbeaten.
A bit of a dull game really, lacked any real urgency as you say. Bursaspor were no threat at all.
Evra's performance was a positive, he did look a lot more like his normal self charging down the left and making those runs behind the fullback that he does so well. Hopefully its the start of a return to his better form from here on in.
Obertan has a big opportunity with Valencia and Giggs injured to stake a claim for a place in the team.
I agree about the positive points you made, but not the 5th gear bit. We didn't look like we had a 4th or 5th gear tonight. But I think at a time like this, we should be happy with a 1-0 win at home against such opposition. Clean sheets like today can only do the players good. Rafael is improving very fast defensively.

I was impressed by Obertan`s willingness to stay on his feet and battle for the ball and I wish Nani would do the same. He still has a tendency to go down too easily and can still be wasteful with the ball, especially on corners. However, he scored a great goal and he linked well with Evra. Smalling was calm on the ball and his willingness to bring teh ball out of defence was impressive. Rafael broke well and defended solidly - even coming to Vidic rescue on one occasion when utd`s captain slipped. I also thouth Carrick was probably the weakest of the 3 central midfielders, especially in the 1st half when his passing was a bit wayward however he got his act together and got better as the game went on.
Too easy, and you stuffed them 1-0. Yeah.
Now, hands up anyone who wasn't biting their nails at 85 minutes.
Too easy is what Arsenal's scorelines have been in their CL group. Too easy isn't 0-0, 1-0, 1-0.
I totally agree with Rob here.
There's nothing like 'too easy' slender 1-0 win.
"Too easy" was what Inter Milan did to Spurs in the first period last evening before they lost their way after half-time...
