The Telegraph has an article stating SAF will target Lampard when he leaves Stamford Bridge.
Personally, I hope this is true and that we get him, as he is still an impact player, would provide a short term fix in midfield and be a great role model for our younger players.
I've always admired Lampard at club level, if you look back over his career, he consistently delivers and even at 34, his legs/ticker are in good nick and he has a very good footballing brain, to say nothing of a striker's eye for goal.
Plus, if we picked him with Giggs and Scholes, we could claim the Guinness world record for the oldest midfield ever seen in the EPL ;-)
I wouldn`t be too surprised if both Giggs and Scholes retire at the end of this season. SAF, unlike Wenger, has always recognised the importance of having experienced players in the dressing room and I think he would be interested in bringing in Lampard. As you say he would be a good impact player and he has experience of not only playing at the highest level but also has that winning mentality that SAF values.

It would be a bit like when he brought in the aging Laurent Blanc. I think that turned out to be a good move; Blanc adjusted well to the Prem after a while, but more importantly, I think Rio and the other defenders learned a lot from him.
I'm not dying to see Lampard play for us, but he's no bad player, and if he did come, I could see our young midfielders benefitting greatly from it.
Crikey......i guess you lot HAVE to make do with the CAST OFFS of other clubs now that ManU can NO LONGER COMPETE in the REAL transfer market.
Second club on Manchester?
