Gutting, but we can take pride from that

Well, Nani wasn't really impressing himself on the game, but that red card transformed the game. Fergie's tactics had been spot on, and until the red card we looked more likely to score again. I wouldn't mind if it was fair, but a red card for that foul shocked me. Yellow, sure, but red?

A well, the bigger thing for me was that I kept thinking of the lat time we played Madrid at home in the Champions League. Back then, no matter what the ref did, we were outclassed. This time around, we were equals, and until the red card, we were mostly on top (just heard Mourinho say "the best team lost"). That doesn't make up for losing, but it is still something significant.

Welbeck played fantastically, Cleverley was looking good until his substitution was forced by the red, and I was really glad he wasn't injured when he took a knock early on. Giggs was amazing in his thousandth game, Carrick continued his best ever season, Evra and Rafael both did their jobs outstandingly.

Also, Fergie got it absolutely right, with a team selection I don't think any of us would have thought of.

Again, I'm gutted, but proud of what the team did. They can hold their heads high.
