Poor Rooney, living proof that you should be careful what you wish for. Three years ago during his last contract talks he moaned about the quality of players the club were signing but didn't seem to realise that the better the player utd brought in the harder he would have to work to justify a place in the starting 11. And I`m sure I`m not the only person seeing the link between contract talks and Rooney mouthing off about leaving nor the link between the stories that though utd are prepared to offer him a new contract they aren't prepared to offer him the same sort of wages he's currently on. He is obviously trying to play the same game as before without seeming to realise that because of the signings of players like RVP and Kagawa his position is not as strong as it was 3 years ago. So throwing his toys out of the pram and telling the club a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to leave could backfire on him.
