Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko could be set for a £36 million move to Manchester City despite the expiry of an automatic buy-out clause.
The German side's general manager Dieter Hoeness had publicly expressed his delight on Tuesday after a 40 million-euro automatic buy-out expired for one of the Bundesliga's top scorers, describing it as "one of the best bits of news we will have all summer". But a report in Britain claims that Dzeko will be moving to the Premier League as Wolfsburg are on the verge of cashing in on the 24-year-old. Dzeko joined Wolfsburg in the summer of 2007 from FK Teplice, and has scored 56 goals in 94 games for Wolfsburg. Former England manager Steve McClaren recently took over the reins of the Bundesliga club after leading Twente to the Eredivisie title.
