Aston Villa Message Board
on sunday, our hero's will don the fabled strip for the start of the new season. make no bones about it our sason starts here, the so called management needs to put all else behind them and make the players aware that they are in a mini league that starts this weekend, a new season, a new start, let the players understand that they are playing a 7 game season for the biggest prize in european football, a starting place in the 2011/2012 english premier league. make no bones about it there are 21 points up for grabs in this mini season and each and everyone of them is worth big big money, for the club and the players. for the FANS the prize is bigger than money, it is pride, it is the reward we deserve for our years of service, it is THE PRIZE. explain to the squad that we have been there we have done that, we have been the chapions of everything that they put in front of us BUT THAT IS THE HISTORY, the next 21 points are the future. the clubs future, the players future the fans future. if you wish to leave, these 21 points are your showcase, if you desire recognition, these 21 points are your window, if you want more money, a bigger house or a faster car then these 21 points are your bargaining tool.
SEVEN GAMES, 21 POINTS, THIS IS THE GOAL, THE AIM, THE FUTURE. DO NOT LET YOURSELVES DOWN, DO NOT LET OUR CLUB DOWN, DO NOT FAIL YOUR FANS.
hero's everyone of you, 21 points all is forgiven, failure is not an option. for the club, the lion, the fans, 21 points, the time is NOW.
villa 'til i die.
Yep.....can't disgree with anything said here.....now is the time to stop Hooly saying we were unlucky and the boys played well. It is the result that matters now, pure and simple! However, we have a win figure of 25% ish and that is 1 in 4. So, with 7 games left that would mean.....eeeeek.....not going there! Ok Mike going to do it your way....the season starts here! Hold on to your hats boys.
Mike - the way they played against Everton I got the feeling that the players understand it. In a way I'm surprised that they're putting so much effort in because most of them probably want to leave and go to a club which isn't managed by a moron.
I reckon the team would win a few matches if they didn't have Houllier substituting anyone who plays well. Our only hope is that he puts out the best team we have on the day instead of thinking about rotation, leaves them on the pitch for 90 minutes, and lets them play their natural game instead of playing some system they don't understand.
What really hurts is that us fans knew we were fighting for relegation months ago. Less farting about by Onion Johnny in January to March and we wouldn't be in this situation now.
