Leeds United Message Board
Thought it was appropriate to start a new thread as we are no longer in pre-season, but now the season proper...
It is just so crucial that we get a result to start our year off well, a result means 3 points and nowt else, I really believe that we can do it and am impressed that the goals have finally started to come from midfield (though admittedly in friendly games!)
2-1 for the win, Bechio and Howson on the scoresheet, Higgs in goal! MOT

Wouldn't be too sure of that. Don't forget we will be nervous, and we have at least 4 key players out.
Just because Derby's away record was abysmal last year doesn't mean it will be this season. They will still be a hard team to beat and we have no recognised prolific goal scorer in the team.
As long as we don't lose I will be happy.
Hope these injuries and suspensions don't knock your start to the season, Peter. It's important to get on the right track as early as possible as we all know. And it's good to see rated players opting to go to Elland Road when they have other options. Could be really interesting the Championship this season---still think your guys will be up there if Grayson can man a steady ship. Newcastle were nowt special you know, but they proved what can be done.

I totally agree - the Magpies were a good outfit, but nowt special as you say.
However I don't think our squad is as good as their's was.
To me at the moment it looks like a draw on Saturday, but the opening day is something of a lottery and luck can play a big part. Let's hope it's on our side!
