I have never been to the UK, let alone Elland Road, so am immensely jealous of all who can dismiss going as a protest.
I paid $25 the other day to see the local rugby team, the Melbourne Rebels, lose a pre-season game in a barely quarter full stadium, and the Rebels came bottom of the Super 15 last year, their inaugural season.
I can understand fans frustration with Bates and his ticket prices, but at the end of the day I would be heading along every opportunity I got to support the likes of Snoddy, Ross Mc, Lonergan, Luciano and Clayts; the blokes who we need to keep at the club. Why would they want to stay when nobody bothers to turn up and watch them?
I understand that you play into Bates' hands if you turn up to watch Leeds play at exorbitant prices, but I would still be there in a flash.
