Reading on a charge won eight out of their last nine matches and one draw.
Have they a better squad than us? no I don’t think so. Have they got a better manager? again I don’t think so.
Nine matches to go if we match Readings run that would give us eight wins and a draw another 25 points added to the 54 = 79 surely good enough for a top six spot. I base my optimism on the fact that our last four matches were against the top two clubs and serious contenders for the play offs. Arguably we should have thumped Soton. We caged the Tigers and swamped the Boro. Against the Hammers had we not lost concentrated for the last minute or so would have beaten the strongest squad in the division. The irony is that Danny Collins who scored their goal was under consideration to come in on loan a few weeks back but Big Sam picked him up. Bate’s Law. I do believe that NW has developed a squad now that is hard to beat and having conceded twice in four games is looking more secure at the back.
So chaps, can we do what Reading has done?. I say we can under Warnock's watchful eye and we play with the same dedication and focus.
PS .Glass almost full Al and Zam but it wont be with Boddingtons sludge. :-)
Tom, on our present form we could win all of our remaining games... as long as we don't get another biased referee like Peter Walton! Not only did he allow the West Ham goal to stand after he had disallowed our first goal for the same foul on a player, but he awarded yellow cards to Leeds players when Hammers' players were at fault - how Kevin Nolan got away without being carded beggars belief!
