Leeds United Message Board
Kellogg’s Bran Flakes “tasty, tasty, very, very tasty” ad jingle from the 1980s could well be the theme tune for GFH/Bates’ ‘takeover’ of Leeds United – except, instead of ‘tasty’ read ‘dodgy’.
Only Ken Bates could sell Leeds to a buyer with financial dealings as shady as his own. Like Bates, Gulf Finance House (GFH) has a reputation for getting away with profiteering by bending rules – see Reuters article: http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/03/19/uk-soccer-leeds-idUKBRE92I13I20130319
In its recent accounts, GFH booked a goodwill gain of $10.369 million on the [Leeds] deal, and said "the bargain purchase was due to pressure on the sellers to exit their holdings due to change in their business plans". What change in their [Bates’] business plans? The truth about this could be very tasty.
The chances of truth emerging from Leeds United are as unlikely as light escaping from a black hole. Another way of putting it is that Bran Flakes are manufactured to produce shyte!
It would appear that GFH are as crooked as Bates which is probably why the takeover took so long.
Contradictory reports from their year end financials to the sayings of David Haigh.
Can't trust them an inch.
Our only way out now is a wealthy Arab buying their holding for a magnitude of pennies, which is as likely to happen as Mickey will marry Minnie!
The sad outcome of prolonged hush hush comings and goings such as this shyte, normally leads a club into one direction, and it certainly ain't forward. Cannot, still cannot, understand why some money guys of repute haven't snapped your club up.
