    Portsmouth v Hull

With Pompey sitting at the foot of the table and fighting for its life, tonight's game will be a test for the Tigers. Both teams need points so it may be down to which wants them more. Despite its lowly position, Pompey is still a good side, if a bit thin on personnel. The changes Nick Barmby makes could be a 'wild card' deciding factor... I will give my prediction tomorrow ( - :

    • well pompey played for pride and did themselves proud.we played catch up and never was on the bus.a weeks fine might just kick thier butts into action.

    • 4 home wins and 2 draws will do it.but if nick don/t let the squad have a free run and shoot on sight then its time for a good clear out of dead wood.

    • 'Five stars, Easy. The points you make are sound. As regards forwards 'on hunger strike', I suspect the reason is that Barmby, a novice manager, inherited Pearson's team and lacks the confidence to change it, especially during a critical stage of the season. Hull has, maybe, the best defence in the Championship; it is the team's major strength. To suddenly switch to attacking play is a risk. I suspect Barmby will review Pearson's plan next season. In the meantime, no one can blame him for going with what works at present.
