I wanted to make this a poll but god knows how to do do it but as the thread asks, should Lloydy be sacked as Davis cup captain after shambolic display in Relegation play-off today?
My personal opinion is that he should NOT be sacked due to the fact that he does not have the players to make us good and especially the 2nd Singles spot or Doubles position so really anybody who takes on this job will struggle to get results against teams with at least a good doubles team or second singles player.
I don't think he should be sacked either. He doesn't have the players to work with at the moment. As Murray has said, Britain are now where they "deserve" to be (having slipped down into the third tier after losing to Poland).
Do you think that Murray should continue to play in the Davis Cup? Perhaps it would be better if he just focussed his attention on winning a Grand Slam, even though that may seem unpatriotic.

I agree with you Isobel. Andy Murray is a fine player, but the point of the Davis Cup is a collaborative effort, so for the burden to fall on to one player defeats the objective of the cup.
Murray is right in stating that Britain is where they deserve to be, and I feel that he should concentrate on his own game for the time being, as even his contribution is having pretty much no impact on the team anyway.

Even if he was fired, who would take his place? Henman and Rusedski have no coaching experience worth talking about. John does the best he can with the "talent" available, unfortunately the talent pool is weak
