I think the cup win was fantastic and the result totally deserved. The only point I would make is that MJ took us to 5th twice - if JR & GP can keep this up, then brilliant. But give them time and judge after a couple of seasons or so (give 'em 5 ) - and if in that time, we've had consistent european foootball - have really pressed the top 4 and maybe lifted one or more trophies - then I think you can say that was down to Juande and Gus. That's not being pessimistic - I just don't like knee jerk reactions - whether from the board - or from the supporters.
i think it's safe to say that the speed in which JR was able to win a trophy was because of the ground work MJ had put in - the team hasn't really changed much, bar a couple of defenders. However would MJ's spurs have beaten chelsea? i don't believe they would have beaten the ar$e. i was a big fan of MJ but can see now that he did take the club as far as he could. the game against birmingham should be a must win if we're to be considered a genuine top side or it will show if we're only up for the big games.
