    Spurs agree Santana fee

Tottenham look set to land Fiorentina midfielder Mario Santana after agreeing a £4million deal with the Serie A side.

Santana has fallen out of favour with Fiorentina and Spurs boss Juande Ramos has acted quickly in an attempt to capture the 26-year-old.

Fiorentina sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has now confirmed that Spurs have agreed to pay 5million euros (£4m) for the Argentine.

And Corvino expects a deal to be completed by the start of next week after Spurs offered Santana a contract for at least three years.

"It is a figure that satisfies us because Santana does not feature in our plans for the 2008/09 season," Corvino said in The Sun.

"I expect Santana to join Spurs within the next few days as he has been offered a three or four-year contract in London."
