Spurs against Wisla Cracow - Prediction.

I didn't watch it, but apparently we actually played fairly well (at least bearing in mind the way we have been playing) - Giovanni & Lennon getting a bit of an understanding, that outstanding goal, and by all accounts in should have been 3-1 but one was incorrectly ruled offside.

Ooh, what a relief! That's 3 Bent's got now since the start of the season, I don't know how he does it; 3 and each one due to luck!

Still, a goal is a goal is a goal, and a win is a win is a win. Fairly good going all around for English teams (did anyone see Villa's game? Bizarre's the word for it - it looked like it was being played on a school football pitch, complete with bored parents, and I have no idea how they got the 3-1 but again, the score's the thing).

    Go on the lilywhites!

    • Oooooh...not_blonde...no luck in Bent's goal last night (ok, maybe they could've blown him up for going over the top of the defender to get the ball, but I think the ref's got it right).

The defender knowing he wasn't going to get his head on the ball, backed in and bent forward, this made it look like Bent pushed him down. All I saw was a striker fighting to get to a ball, the way a striker should. Also there was no protest from the defender nor the rest the team.

What I didn't like was the reaction to the brilliant goal (again by Bent) that was disallowed, while I don't condone all that Chelscum in the ref's face when a decision doesn't go their way, it does show some passion (as well as arrogance). Our team needs to get its swagger back...the goal was disallowed for an offside that wasn't and all the team did (as one) was purse their lips and slump their shoulders...I would have been livid (JR threw his hands in the air...a lot coming from him, and Gus was having a fit [new manager?]).

The return leg should be entertaining, they're going to have to come out after us to get the one goal, and we're probably best served pressing them to increase our lead (seeing as defending is not our strong suit).

      But first Wigan...
