I think I mentioned this somewhere else, possibly the gents club. Redknapp specified the left side, specifically LM, not that long ago, and I was annoyed at first for him basically doing exactly what Comolli did (spending silly money on positions we don't need all that much & not do anything about the ones we do), but thinking about it something's got to have been happening behind the scenes. Perhaps we were close to getting someone whose club demanded secrecy (although considering how we got the rest of our transfers it seems unlikely Arry would've respected that) but it fell through, then we tried for Quaresma but as time ticked on only one of that & Keane could go through (was it dependent on selling Giovanni?) and Keane was the more advanced sale?
I don't know, but I can't see he'd have done nothing towards it. Hopefully now we've got a few blood sweat & tears types back to the team and playing regularly (ie Keane) that'll rub off on the rest of them. It's leadership we need more than anything.
