    missed oppurtinity

I was going to put bets on us winning today, there being more than 3 goals, and on Utd beating West Ham 1-0 (sorry Hammers) - clearly I know more about other teams than I do my own!

Obviously 1 point's better than none, but it doesn't really do anything for us and we've got to be disappointed; we dominated open play but neither team ever really looked like scoring. I really thought this would be the game where the urgency finally returned to the team and it clicked into place a little bit, if the players don't want it for the derby then when will they?

    • i have 2 agree notblonde. i glad u agree with the missed oppurtinity. mark, i dont see how drawing at home to 10 men & not really looking like winning til modrics chance in last min makes u think we will beat 11 men man utd who havent conceded a goal for so long. they will be odds on favourites.
im happy with a point before the game but when they had 10 men we had to get the 3 points. draws arent really good enough. i thought we were very wasteful with the ball, and i agree about the urgency. its like we settled for a draw which is similar to us settling for a defeat away 2 man utd in cup.

      • Morning SB, morning everyone.
Definitely a missed chance. We dominated in evey aspect of the game, even before the sending off.
However, it's the same old story. We get ourselves up for the big games but when it comes to the 3 pointers we don't turn up.
That's the difference between the 2 seasons where we finished 5th and now.
And I don't know what Jenas is doing on the pitch at the moment, he needs to sit in the corner and think about his actions.
Plus's: Palacios looked great, clean crunching tackles, strong and ever-present. Modric always snapping at heels and looking for the final pass.Cudicini ahead of Gomes for me every time, looked very sharp when he eventually had to do something.
