Remaining fixtures ( 24 points to play for! )

    New thread fellow yidsters..

I know that we have the England / Ukraine game coming up on Wednesday but looking forward to our remaining fixtures we have a potential 24 points still to play for.

While even the most optimistic of Spurs fan would not see us getting a maximum return from our remaining games, we still have a chance of consolidating a place in the top-half of the table and finishing above our country-cousins from East London in the process - so this is how I can honestly see how our remaining fixtures will end up...

Blackburn ( away ) 2-1 win - Blackburn haven't had the best of luck lately, and I cannot see any reason why a resurgent Spurs cannot get a win at Ewood Park.

West Ham ( home ) 1-0 win - We always seem to beat West Ham in the EPL ( they just don't like playing against us - do they? ).

Newcastle ( home ) 3-1 win - We were extremely unlucky to end the game at St.James in December without a point ( hopefully, there'll be no worries this time round ).

Man Utd ( away ) 1-1 draw - The way they have been playing lately, why can't we get a draw up at Old Trafford?

West Brom ( home ) 4-0 win - Lets face it, they are as good as relegated ( I will almost feel sorry for them, if this score turns out to be true ).

Everton ( away ) 0-1 loss - I would have gone for a draw, but I think Everton will be the only team to do the double over us this season.

Man City ( home ) 3-1 win - Our chance to complete a double over a team who have always traditionally struggled against us.

Liverpool ( away ) 0-2 loss - Well...? they will be challanging for the title.

Ok folks, can you do better then this?

    • how about we all rate your comments!!

    • shame about yesterday.i was right that we lose by 3 so that means i still have us with a pt more than we have. u had a draw which means u have us with 4 more pts than we have.
looks like im going to win!
we will have to think of a prize fot the winner, especially as im the big favourite now

    • sb,

There's still 5 games for me to even up the score. And with the home games against West Brom & Man City coming up and a few more 1-0 certainties I may yet win.

      Wolfie

ps.. what is the prize for the winner?

    • we dominated the newcastle match & they still nearly got a lucky draw.
wolfie was right so hes now got us with 3 more pts than we have.
iv got us with a pt less than we have so im just in the lead.
u say we draw with utd,i say we lose so i hope u are right or even better & we win.
hopefully he will put his strongest team out against pompey & then that will even it up a bit when we play them

    • i predicted 2-2 just because there are bogey team now.
we usually deserve to win but end up losing to them, either thru a wonder strike or a lucky goal.
i really want to win this game because they keep robbing us.
but im going to stick to a draw.

    • Thanks spursbabe,

I had a sneaky feeling that we would beat the Hammers and by the correct scoreline.

Anyway, what do you reckon on next weeks game against the toon-army? I predicted 3-1 to Spurs.. what about your prediction?

And as far as you being slightly ahead on points, I would like to point out that its a marathon & not a sprint and I'll still have 5 more games after next week to win... lol!!!!!

    • well done wolfie,we both got that right but u even got the scoreline correct.
so far iv got us with 1pt more than we have, & u have us with 3pts more than we have. so im slightly ahead but still all to play for.

    • i hope u are right wolfie but im less optimistic.

blackburn 1-1 draw- we seem to struggle away against the physical small northern teams(bolton, sunderland, newcastle, boro, wigan, stoke). on current form we shouldnt lose so il take a draw.

west ham 2-1 win- i think it will be tight as the hammers are having a good season by there standards but il back us at home.

newcastle 2-2 draw- are bogey team for a while now & also they will be desperate for the points,so im going to say the magpies will steal a point, probably a last minute nicky butt deflected shot.

man utd 3-0 lose. away to the best team in europe so convincing defeat.

west brom 2-0 win. should see some good passing moves in this one(already got my ticket!)

everton 0-0 draw. always good tight games against everton so il say hard earned draw.

man city 1-1draw. unpredictable team so il sit on fence and say draw

liverpool 1-0 lose. tight game but il think they will pip us.

so that will get us 48pts, which should get us 10th place and a top half finish.

      • If this Shearer thing comes to fruction (and I think it will) I think it's safe to say we can write off any points at Newcastle. I don't think it's a wise appointment by them (Wise, Dennis Wise, Newcastle, dya geddit?? I should have been a comedian) but I think it's the sort of one that'll give them the advantage over us - I couldn't say why, but I think it will.

I don't think we should expect anything from the Geordies anyway, somehow we can outplay them by miles but regularly still lose.

Oh, and SB, "we seem to struggle away against the physical small northern teams(bolton, sunderland, newcastle, boro, wigan, stoke)." - Stoke?? That Staffordshire, in the Midlands, team Stoke?? Shame on you calling them Northern! (I grew up in the Midlands and have had a lifetime of the Northerners calling me Southern and the Southerners calling me Northern, the clue's in the name... MIDlands. MID Lands.)

        ;)

    • Not going to do a full list myself, but will red pen yours a bit Wolfy ;)

"West Ham ( home ) 1-0 win - We always seem to beat West Ham in the EPL ( they just don't like playing against us - do they? ). " - always?!? Don't you remember lasagnegate?!?

Actually, I think you're probably right about us winning, but I'm gonna say 3-0 - it won't look like they deserve to lose by that much, but they'll never really get their teeth in. Keane for a brace & one Lennon or Modric.

Newcastle - I can't meet your 3-1 here, but I'll say 1-1 and raise you elsewhere... we just don't have a good record against the Geordies (they've beaten us every time we've met in the league since December 2005! And generally we've deserved the win), I think on current form we should be pleased with a score draw.

Man U - I'll raise your 1-1 to a 2-1 if they stay on current form, but if not (and I doubt they will) I'm still on for the 1-1 - to dare is to do!

Man City - not convinced, they're probably the most erratic team in the league this year, you never know which one'll turn up. I think it'll depend on our form leading up to the game, although as it's at home the win's more doable.

Liverpool - depends who's got more to play for at this point. It's really building up to be the match that decides who wins the league and who qualifies for Europe isn't it! But we've already beaten them twice this season, I reckon we've got to be pretty confident of taking points off the top 4 in every match this year.
