Tottenham Hotspur Message Board
I heard Downing and Cattermole chatting at the bar in my local. They were big buddies at the Boro. As I held onto my Jack Daniels for dear life as I sqeezed past them I heard Lee say---I'll go to Spurs if you will.
Hand on heart---H.
hey alan i said no to cattermole before but if the other option is a pair exgunners then i will take him and pay over the odds. .
i would sooner ask ramos back to be our manager then see those two in spurs shirts. they can both go and f@ck them selves and never darken arrys door or WHL.
lets go for young skillfull talent who still can progress but have already a bit of experience ie modric. capel, young or even downing.
plus why sell big zok just to bring in 2 other central midfielders??? give hudds ago.
rant over sorry fellas just the thought of 2 ex goons makes my skin crawl.
Im just pulling your chain Al......the way the PL is going what with stupid transfer fees and threats of foreign quota limits from uefa etc...players like Cattermole are gonna be much in demand. He could even end up at the likes of Utd or Pool in a couple of years.
still got a rugby league name though!
Okay---you watch Catt go this season wherever he's at. Some club's in for a midfield injection of steel---and plus the fact he's made in England---bit of a rarity these days.
Observing with interest--H
Good luck to him, where ever he plays. He was one of the best when he played for us, and I'm sure some of that magic is still in him.
Pay-as-you-play and free transfer would be a steal for a player who was considered amongt the best midfielders in the world only a few years ago.
Not sure how he would be received at WHL, but one thing is for sure, he wont get any grief from us Gooners. I hope you get him, as it would be nice to see him back in the EPL for his swansong season.

I don't think having someone of his experience would do us any harm at all as far as mentoring some of the younger midfielders is concerned. Can he do a job for us on the pitch? Maybe. Do I like the idea of an ex-dyed-in-the-wool Gooner coming to the Lane? NO I BLEEDIN' DON'T!!!!
