  • big game! we simply have to win if we are to stay in the hunt for 4th & stop the rot.

i think it will be close & lots of goals.
im going to say 2-2 draw.

prob be a boring 0-0 game now.

    id love a 1-0!

good news is no bellamy or swp.

id prob start crouch & keep the rest of the team the same as wolves.

    • Sorry to rain on your parade Maroussia but if you have bought tickets from here you have been well and truely ripped off!!

How much have you paid exactly?

According to the website ticets for the Pompey game are anything between £350 and £750 EACH!!!! Does that include flights from anywhere in the World and an overnighter at the Ritz?

      Jeez I hope we win.

    • It will be great to watch Tottenham Hotspur, i have bought tickets from
      http://ticketfront.com/event/Tottenham_Hotspur-tickets looking forward to it.

    • I also totally agree - he is something we are famous for lacking since Graham Roberts, if we could get someone else like him and retain the attacking flow, no reason we couldn't get 4th or higher...we generally seem to be playing far more like a team than in previous years
I suppose it'll all go wrong...

    • Agreed - he's been something of a revelation at the club, I have a lot of respect for him.

And another thing I like about him is, despite being a tough tackler etc, he never looses his temper and and is always a model professional on the pitch. No whinging, no yelling at the ref, no fighting, he just gets on with it. Nice to see.

    • im a huge fan of wilson. hes the best defensive CM we have had in my lifetime.
hes a step up from zokora.

yeh he does need to work on his distribution but aslong as he runs round the middle of the pitch putting those tackles in, we can forgive him a few loose passes.

    • Old fan, spot on - I think that's something he needs to improve on, although he has played some killer passes this season I think he has room for improvement. But he is one of our star players for the reason you say - his take no prisoners approach and the way he breakes up play. Andy Gray - who I don't always agree with - called him 'a midfield destroyer' which I quite liked lol.

Now if we can only carry this performance through to the Blackburn game.

    • Normally I'm a supporter of Corluka but I'd totally agree with you regarding the City game SB, I thought some of his distribution (not all, but about 60- 70%) was poor, and even his control let him down at times, which is unusual for him (there was a few times where the ball was played cross field to him and his poor touch resulted in a City throw in). He was solid defensively though.

Hudd again didn't really take hold of midfield, but I was more impressed with him in that game than usual because he (and Wilson) kept Barry and Ireland really quiet - and considering how good those two are I think thats a job well done.

    • One of the joys of being a Yid - we have players who can go from the sublime to the ridiculous in two strides!
Another example - Palacios last night - I thought he had a great game in many respects - we was all over the midfield and bossing it from the back - but he made some atrocious passes and give aways. But - I'll take that from him, because when he's out there he doesn't take prisoners.

    • hey SB, we're never going to agree! I actually thought Corluka was a bit poor last night with a fair bit of loose stuff, totally agree Assou-Ekotto was very skilful, something worries me tho, always expecting some howling error from him...
we played well tho didn't we?
happy christmas to you & your family (and indeed to all of you fellow sufferers!)

    • Hudd wasnt amazing but i think he has one of the harder jobs of the game! and he pulls defenders away becuase whod let hudd be on the edge of the box unmarked with his rifle?! but id drop him for modric, let modric roam behind crouch and defoe, lethal! hed sitll be good back up and could play him against teams were we need a bit of hieght...... id say bye to jenas, bentley pav andnext window keane (no point disrupting a strike force now)
