    Thanks For Everything Arry

    Very strange set of affairs.

First most Spurs fans were gutted he might leave for the England job (although wishing him the best of luck).

Then he does not get offered the job and Spurs fans are happy.

Levy seems happy for him to not get offered the job,

The press report he might leave.

    Levy backs him.

Redknapp says that the reports are malicious and untrue and a darn right liberty

    24 HOURS LATER...............HE'S GONE!

Football????????? You never know what's true and what's utter crap!!!

    • Football is a nightmare. The problem being that it's a popular business.
Not many people give a stuff who runs a bank and who the managers are - until it goes pear shaped.
But with football, the media make millions - TV rights went yesterday for £3bn+ based on 'stories'. The media want to create stories - so all stories are vastly over hyped to get/keep people interested. Football is based on hype.

I read today (I think here on Yahoo) that Lewis et al were disappointed that we didn't get 2nd with the money we've spent - and that was one of the reasons for 'arry going. Sounds like a bit of poetic licence to me - especially as 'arry has spent about what, £10m nett since he's been with us? (See http://www.transferleague.co.uk/premiership-transfers/tottenham-hotspur-transfers.html).

Just to put 'arry in perspective see - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C._managers - but factor in that we only played 120+ games with him - so, no one will ever know if he could have kept that win percentage up.

May I also say to those who say that 'arry had no tactical nous, that 'arry - apart from having one of the best win averages of all the Spurs managers, did actually get us to CL position twice. And remember how far/well we did when we did play CL? Not back for someone who lacks tactical ability eh?

I just hope that the next manager can live up to the fans expectations. I just hope we don't get a manager like Hodgson or Di Matteo that settle for a 'tactical' way of playing the game. I know the Chavs are champions of Europe and if England do well at the Euos, Hodgson will be a hero, but wasn't it Blanchflower that said:
'....Football is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom....'
IMHO that is what 'arry brought to the club.

I hope the next manager does the same.
