Tottenham Hotspur Message Board
The point of my controversy:
I have no problems with the word, nor do any of my fellow Spurs fans (just doesn't sound right), some of whom are of the foreskinless faith (oh hell, is that offensive?)
I will always refer to myself as a Yidd, I am not jewish, but I love the way we as fans have taken a word which was intended to offend us and made it ours.
Apologies to those who may have been persecuted with this word, but its not there's (the bigots) any more! its ours now!

Oooh, hang on; Ledley doesn't like it, what must the other players think? It's meant to be a cheer 'for' them, but if they're not happy about it... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2230171/Spurs-fans-chant-Yid-Army-Europa-League-clash-police-backing.html (video at the bottom)
That said, Lineker's in this vid, and pretty sure he's been supporting us using it on twitter...
Totally agree Joe.
The political correctness has gone mad. When people ignore intent and simply go on content, you have a problem.
Makes you wonder what words will be allowed in future. If you omit intent, then the Black lawyer's association do have a problem don't they?
If it is content based only, then what happens with foreign languages or abusive cockney rhyming slang? Could JT have said '...you f* Jumping Jack c*...' and got away with it?
Next time footie is on the box, look for the contorted faces in the crowd (or even on the pitch) spewing violent obscenities at anything that crosses their tiny minds - f* c* b* - any obscenity apparently is acceptable.
IMHO this is where it's gone wrong - the ABUSE is what is wrong, not the the words used in the abuse. As long as the abuse is allowed whether it's aimed at a woman, man, white, yellow, gay, red-head ...is irrelevant.

Peter Herbert is a self promoting wangr.
I hope Spurs fans all go out this weekend and shout it to the roof tops. Lets see if Herbert tries to get them all arrested.
If he is that wrapped up in negative words being used in this manner may I suggest he starts by getting all black rappers to stop using the N word in all their songs. Lets see how that flys.
Oh and for Joes benefit.
'Up The Arse!'
