    Memories of Jimmy Greaves...

Put Jimmy in his prime out there now, how would his value sit in the modern game. £?

    • I probably wouldn't like his style of play, as he wouldn't be doing 'enough' for me!
Having said that, a constant 20+ league goals per season may change my mind.

He has to be up there - if Bale is now worth £55M, Sir James has to be way above that.

      • He would still be of the greatest value - I was also lucky enough to see him play in the glory days. He simply scored goals - maybe he coasted through the game and then had a few moments of brilliance - but what magical moments they were!! Nothing but fond memories of Greavesy - and many more of the great Lilleywhite players from that era at the Lane.
Brown Peters Henry Blanchflower Norman Mackay Jones Greaves Smith White Dyson. I was 8 when I went to my first game and while I can't remember the detaisl of the game I will never forget the magic feel!
