What do we make of this ?
Manchester City have sounded out Sunderland over the availability of goalkeeper Marton Fulop as they await permission to sign a replacement for the injured Shay Given.
City were left without an experienced senior goalkeeper when Republic of Ireland international Given dislocated his shoulder at the weekend.
Joe Hart is currently on loan at Birmingham and Stuart Taylor is on his way back from a knee injury, and reports today claimed the Eastlands club are attempting to recall Hart from his spell at St Andrews.
However, Press Association Sport understands there has been contact with the Black Cats over Hungary international Fulop, who is currently number three at the Stadium of Light and seemingly heading for the exit after making his desperation for first-team football abundantly clear.
Manager Steve Bruce admitted earlier this season that he would not stand in the 26-year-old's way should the right offer come along.
However, whether he is the man to answer City's call will depend upon the club being given permission to strike an emergency loan deal, and that in turn could rest on the success or otherwise of any bid to recall Hart.
I understand that Hart is on a season long loan, it would be interesting to see if that includes a recall clause, as I understand it doesn't.
What a joke eh, the countries richest club, and they havent got a keeper to call on if a emergency happens..
Give me Maik Taylor...loyal keeper, turned down Liverpool and hasn't moaned about losing his place....he will do a brilliant job if hart is recalled...
Hope not though..........
I am going to be with some Irish Bluenoses on Saturday giving Joe Hart our award as our player of the year before the Burnley game, we are meeting him at 10am, however the word is that Alex McLeish is trying to do a deal which would mean us being guaranteed Hart for another year Loan if we release him back to them for the last 2 matches!
At this point in time there is no news, but I think big eck is a shrewd man and is playing hard ball, it could be worth multi millions to Man City to have Hart for the last 2 games, if they miss out on 4th place because they wont deal with us it will not make their fans too happy!
