Diaby has played in Champions League. He's been up against the likes of Vieira, Riquelme, Zidane etc. If he and Fabregas came out on top, I can't see why he won't be good enough to battle against the likes of ballack, Lampard, Gerrard, Xabi Alonso, Carrick.
Diaby had 5-10 minute cameos in CL games, nothing more than that. He's a very good player for his age (only 19, remember) but I don't see us playing well without Gilberto's experience and cool head in midfield. Anyway, he's injured. You talk about needing experience in the team, and you've picked Walcott ahead of Persie and Adebayor.

Yeah already it is pretty clear that the team/squad is a far weeker outfit than what it was last year.
A lot of quality has been lost - Cole Campbell Bergkamp Pires while retaining dross - Reyes Cygan Gilberto.
I think with the side weaker and getting used to the stadium will make it a difficult transitional season.
The only player of any note is Rosicky and he nowhere near justifies his price tag.
