That's a fair point well made DOW.
I think Paul has answered it very well. (apologies, have been out at footie training with my son hence not responding earlier)
I think a lot of us have been frustrated at the time it took AW to appoint/agree to bring someone in to replace Dein, who did a lot of important stuff that AW took on. Some of which he maybe didn't have all the requisite skills to acheive AND still effectively run one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
This could have had a bearing on our success or lack thereof, in the last few seasons.

People in powerful positions rarely admit any shortcomings they have. I do remember AW saying that he fully intended to replace Dein, but he wasn't going to hire 'anybody' just to fill the post.
It did take him a long time though, and I'm not yet convinced that Gazidis is all that effective. Guess this summer may be a truer measuring stick to see what their intentions are.
