Arsenal Message Board
Interesting pice, huh?
Couple of thoughts:
Hill-Wood is a walking PR disaster and has been for about ten years now. The guy should be axed, plain and simple. He is Arsenal through and through but so am I and I'm not sitting on the board. If nothing else, the club should tell Hill-Wood NEVER to give an "on the record" comment to the media again.
Great point about Usmanov. I am really warming to the chubby one actually. He seems to be a tough, ruthless, but very very smart businessman who actually seems to want to be involved with Arsenal for the right reasons. I think the Board will have a tough time keeping him away. I would not be at all surprised if Silent Stan and the Fat One got together someday soon and said "seperately we are good, but together we could be GREAT!!!".
Spot on article
Get rid of the Board i have said this for 12-18 months they are liars who make MP's look saintly they are busy lining their pockets.
The only new hireing have been the yanks m8 to David Deins position and a Bloke in charge of "Maximising the corporate hospitality"
To Maximise anything you need a winning team so
GIVE WENGER DA MONEY

very interesting article, and another below - looks like the fans will show who they back
The mail article proves what many Arsenal fans believe, Wenger is a genius and is punching massively above his weight in terms of his budget.
Now the board should back him and at least hint at his limited resources, even if they chose not to go into detail.
The problem- I will tell you the obvious - due to stadium committments and the current economic climate, there is very little money unless he sells. Could you imagine the Man Utd or Chelsea teams if they had a transfer budget of £13m !! Would they be beating us on that budget? Would Fergie have stayed when the knives were out 4 years ago? Would Chelsea have got Jose or Hiddink with a £13m budget?
He is not some arrogant fool in principle against spending money- the board just do not give him any. The board knew all along the stadium payement would cause problems, Wenger agreed to delay the stadium to get a few years of success - he knew what was coming.
Lets see how Liverpool and Spurs do when they start paying for their new stadiums.
Wenger has had little money, mass injuries to key players, a "negative environment " caused by some fans , and the board, he is up against 3 mega spending teams above Arsenal and some below - yet still he keeps us in the Top 4 and a semi final in the CL in this day and age where money buys anything.
The man is unique, a genius, the board members and fans should sink to their knees in his presence.
I hope the events of this week make fans and the board realise what they have
This weekend, Wenger will see what true fans think of him
I think its time the board clarifies its position, perhaps there wouldn't be such animosity towards the team or wenger if we knew exactly what he has to play with...if we are that financially restricted that players cant be bought, then why do they not just come out and say it? Why leave him to take all the flak?
