He added in L'Equipe: 'I'm the only starting player left from 2007. In May, I watched Manchester City's parade on television and I saw Samir and Gael lift the trophy. I want that.
'At the end of this season, I will have one year left on my contract. Did someone talk with me about it ? No, nobody.
'For the moment, I want to play with Arsenal, and find my level again. All the rest is expectation. Everyone has a faith.'
TBH it doesn't bother me.
Like many others before him, we haven't won anything with him in the team. He has always been a quick attack minded LWB, but he has left us drastically short in defense because of it.
Add to this, the fact that he suffered two fractures to the same leg last season, and you have to wonder if there is something that AW knows that we don't.
On top of all this (and it very early days) buy Jenkinson has shown himself thus far, to be a decent proposition. Even Butch pointed it out after our last game.
So Sagna leaves, but who would we buy?
Somebody cheap no doubt.
The intelligent amongst us (yes, that rules you out Chris) will realise that Sagna (note the spelling) is shortly to make his comeback from a broken leg, his second in recent times.
Naturally Arsenal will want to see how his performances pan out following his recovery from a long lay off through injury, before discussing new contract terms with him.

Pointing out a typo is about is close as you get to getting one over me Goonerlube!
The point is once again a senior player is allowed to run his contract down to its final year before negotiations are even contemplated, and considering how he's not exactly enamoured at how your little club is being run into the ground by 'the Prune', things look rather ominous!
And please....YOU questioning MY intelligence?
I've had you round my little finger for years!
