    Again, Jagielka is obviously Polish (whilst his first name IS pretty traditional here), and Zaha is from the Ivory Coast!

    Maybe Wilfried is a traditional name over there? Im pretty sure some of the names in your list are traditional in there own countries....Nico, Sanchez, Serge, Ignasi etc.

    • If I didn't know you any better Chris, i would guess you were being purposefully obstreperous.

      Jagielka may well be Polish, and Zaha, Ivroian, but they are both listed as English Internationals. So football is moving the same way as Cricket and Rugby in that respect.

      I'm not saying that it is wrong, only making the point that there aren't many footballers around, whose names would not look out of place on a 1920's team roster.

      Even 'Phil' would have been scoffed at.
