If I didn't know you any better Chris, i would guess you were being purposefully obstreperous.
Jagielka may well be Polish, and Zaha, Ivroian, but they are both listed as English Internationals. So football is moving the same way as Cricket and Rugby in that respect.
I'm not saying that it is wrong, only making the point that there aren't many footballers around, whose names would not look out of place on a 1920's team roster.
Even 'Phil' would have been scoffed at.
Jagielka was born in Sale, Greater Manchester.
There was a Samuel Chedgzoy in the 1920 team; good English surname there. There was also a #$%$ at centre forward.
