  • Apparently Arsenal are very serious about him, and have 'promised Rooney he will be their best-paid player ever if he swaps Old Trafford for the Emirates, with a £200,000-a-week, five-year deal on the table.'

From a sporting perspective, it seems like a very good offer to me, one Rooney can't refuse if he really wants to test himself.

But would Rooney, 'who currently picks up around £275,000-a-week on his United deal, that has just two years left to run', accept £75k less, I don't tink so!

At least the club are now seen to be trying to attract decent players...

    • In my opinion Rooney would be a dream signing. He needs a fresh challenge, is approaching his peak, and is the sort of player we are crying out for. English, strong, a fighter and can play technical football of our style. He is head and shoulder above any striker (or player) we have too.

People who say we cant afford him need to open their mind. If four players wages total 250k and are let go, then it makes logical sense that we can afford this for one player of higher quality. I believe wenger WOULD know this and act accordingly, being the economic pragmatist he is.

Arsene wasted 50 million after we were humbled 8-2 by man u on players of sub standard quality ina quick fix attempt, all who could go now. He is not afraid to spend like people think, just a bit unsure how to. If he can get rooney, who man u owe us after RVP transaction, then it will go along way to making a statement.
