Sack Wenger & spend money = win trophies

Utter tosh from the wenger can do no wrong brigade. You talk of patience and giving wenger time to fulfill promises made, how long exactly are we supposed to give? 8 years and we are further behind the top sides than ever before. It will take another decade before we get near them, as we have to start from scratch.

The wage structure argument is also incoherent as we have the highest wage bill in the EPL, its just we choose to spread it out evenly amongst loads of #$%$ whereas others pay quality players top wages, and the rest lower. Simple economics disproving the myth that we cant afford top players. Also I can imagine a hundred managers would do a better job than wenger did with that situation. You say the board is to blame, proving again your gullibility.

Face the facts, you are a wenger lacky and would continue to make excuses from the man til kingdom come. Some of us can see through the BS and know that we can do better and now. All you have to do is compare a few of wengers signings to the top clubs to see how bad a job wenger is doing!

Lose the arrogance and open your eyes.

    • Typical response from wenger knows best brigade, say I have something against wenger simply because I dare criticise him. I have total respect for what he achieved many years ago, but I have no respect for what he has done since. He will always be a legend in my books, but in my humblest opinion he should have gone perhaps 3 years ago. Now it is beyond painful, but no doubts when we finish 4th or 5th next season you will all proclaim we are still close etc etc, blame the board, only need a few changes to challenge. Its rubbish excuses and most people knew this when same things were said last season and season before!

    • Apart from the fact that I dont believe Wenger knows best...as I have said, respectfully that was at least a more grounded response.

I dont expect to change your mind about things, but that response is a better place to start a debate rather than full on, no holds barred negativity. If you want to debate constructively you have to give some ground to your opposite, because we all know none of us is 100% correct. Most certainly when it comes to how football works as there is information we as fans are not privy to, and there are factors involved that no one can control.

So coming from that perspective maybe you would answer some questions that would be a good debate base point?
Do you think Wenger should be sacked asap?
Do you think anyone would be better than Wenger now?
You do not want to accept "excuses" (I call them details) and there are obvious easy measures that should be taken to guarantee better?
You do not think we are still within touching distance?
Do you really believe it would take 8/10 more yrs to repair the damage Wenger has done?
Do you think any of our players are worth keeping/having?
You believe the 10 year plan was a sham from the start?

Is it the case that you dont believe in Wenger, you dont trust the Board so whatever they say now means nothing to you?
For example: If we bought say 3 players of obvious stature, two breaking the transfer barrier and two breaking the wage barrier would that make your massive negativity wobble a bit? Would you consider that a positive? Or would it just be peace meal?

The last point I am interested in though is: Lets say you are right?
Wenger sees out his last year, we buy players, but they are "classic Wenger" types, decent but not good enough. We remain inconsistent. We win nothing. End up battling for 4th but finish 5th. This time next year Wenger leaves the club.
If this came be, How would you feel about that? Would you be happy that Wenger has failed again? Would you be happy that our team has failed again? Would you feel proud that you had prophesied all this for the past 3 years?
If the next guy failed would that make you reconsider your previous conviction?

Dont tell me you are one of those "fans" that want us to lose out on CL just so we have a proper excuse to give Wenger the boot?

    • Start from scratch? We are still in touching distance! Still with growing revenue, still in the top 4, still with Cl footy. All that means is that with a few changes we could challenge again. Depends on the specific changes, As i said...wage structure change to help bring in better quality, the removal of deadwood and Wenger to think out of his box a bit more (thats the hardest one) and we could challenge again. To deny that is tosh.

We do not have the highest wage bill in the EPL we have the 4th highest. Yes we have too many average players yet we will no doubt get rid of 4/5 this summer, maybe more if we are lucky. By next summer we have a few more who are all out of contract. Come 2015 we would be VERY unlucky to still have ANY of the current deadwood on the pay role.

As for what appears to be your inability to discuss things in an adult/intellectual way I must ask whether you can actually read? You seem to be able to write yet not read. Mentioned due to the fact that I have made it pretty clear that I do not support Wenger 100%. I have made it clear where I think he has been lacking in recent seasons which all adds up to the idea that I do not think Wenger is the ONLY man for the job. Yet apparently I am a Wenger lacky, a "wenger can do no wrong" gullible moron? Then you brand me arrogant!?
Have you ever heard of the word Hypocrite? Think you should look it up.

Finding it hard to believe youre a Gunner. Not because you doubt Wenger (I doubt Wenger and I know many other Arsenal fans who do doubt Wenger) but its hard to believe because you do not seem to have any respect for the guy in the 1st place? Thats not someone who is a Gunner. even the most annoyed Gunners would still show some respect to the guy for what he has achieved and how he has gone about dealing with our stadium build and looking after the club.

If you cant debate properly nor take into account arguments put from the otherside you're not worth my time.
